Where do I even start looking/researching how to do it, the terminology, the logistics? DH and I have a 3.5 yr old and we've been trying unsuccessfully to have a second (I'm 41). I'm trying to come to terms with DD being an only child but it just doesnt feel like our family is complete, if that makes sense. There's an empty space where another child should be.
We live in Texas, if that makes a difference. I don't know if education matters but we are plenty educated. We are definitely open to a baby of a different ethnicity. Not sure how I feel about open adoptions at this point, I'm definitely not educated about that topic. Don't think we would be interested in the foster care system at this point.
The only person I "know" here who has adopted is @jermys. Is there anyone else who has done it or in the process of doing it that can talk me through where to start, what I should be thinking about?

Yeah, check out an introductory book on the topic and read the FAQs in the bunko addition board. After that, I'll be happy to answer any more specific questions you might have.
Thanks guys, I'm going to get adoption for dummies and start there and I'll look at what agencies pop up in a Google search to start with . I don't know anyone locally who has adopted so I don't have any local resources.
