AW's or highlights from the last week? I spectated my first race and it was a lot of fun! I really enjoyed making signs and cheering on all of the runners. DS was a little antsy, but DD was a breeze since I just had her in the Ergo.
Boston, Monday! After that I'll be focused on getting a 5k PR.

I'd like to start by giving a shout-out to Baby Blondie.
I pushed last night's workout to this morning since we had friends over for dinner. I would have turned my alarm off and skipped running this morning too, if it weren't for you cryng for a bottle at 4am. You have no snooze button. Good timing and thanks for getting me out of bed.

Good morning!
What are you training for? Date? Nothing right now, just trying to get some fitness/speed back.
Schedule for the week? Mon: 4 mi w/some intervals, weights; Tues: 3 mi easy run, yoga; Wed: 7 miles; Thurs: weights and yoga; Fri: 5-10 miles (Ideally I'd do my long run Friday morning, but I'm not sure if it will work out.); Sat: 5ish miles (we'll be out of town, so I'm not sure what I can do); Sun: Rest
Any issues or vents? After slacking and dealing with an injury over the winter, I'm slower than I was last spring. That sucks. Also, it's supposed to get below freezing tonight. WTF. I had to get out my long tights again.
AW's or highlights from the last week? I registered for MCM!
What are you training for? Date? Covered Bridge Half, June 1
Schedule for the week? Mon- crossfit, Tues- 4M, Wed- crossfit, Thur- 4M, Fri - sprints, Sat- crossfit, Sun - 12 miles
Any issues or vents? I have been traveling, sick, or so busy the last month that my average per week runs are about 10 miles...and then I jumped right in and did 12 miles on Sunday. I am still sore. Additionally, the day after, yesterday, at Crossfit we did 90 overhead squats and I was failing miserably. Even with no weight I was hardly able to get parallel. It was a really discouraging day and I left in tears AW's or highlights from the last week? Nothing really. Glad the weather is better for running outdoors!

Any issues or vents? My back is still bothering me, and I start PT today. The weather with rain, cold, and high winds is putting a cramp in my training this week.

I think after this race, I am going to focus on getting faster at the 5k distance.
Schedule for the week?
This is pretty much the peak week of training... Sun: easy 3 because I was feeling lazy Mon: 5 miles at race pace Tue: 45 min tempo run Wed: 3 or 5 miles Thur: 3 or 5 miles Fri: off Sat: 11 long
Any issues or vents?
I'm feeling rather meh about running lately - not ideal during the end of training! I am just overwhelmed trying to fit everything in my day.
I am not loving the long runs right now, so I think a max of 7-8 miles on the weekend is about all I can get excited for. Should be conducive to 5 and 10k training for the summer.
AW's or highlights from the last week?
I had a great 5 mile goal pace run...under 40 minutes and negative splits.
What are you training for? Not officially training but getting ready for 5Ks on 5/3 and 5/11, and then planning to start the Hanson plan (18 weeks!?) in the middle of May for my next half in September.
Schedule for the week? Yesterday - Christine F's Yoga for Runners that I read about here and I really liked it Today - 3m w/run club tomorrow - yoga Thursday - nada Friday - 40 min. tempo Sat - 5
Any issues or vents? I haven't done anything longer than 4 miles since my half on 3/23 so I was getting antsy and forced myself to sit down and plan out the next few weeks, now I feel better.
What are you training for? Date? - Olympic Aquabike 4/27, Reverse Sprint Tri 5/17, Half Iron Aquabike 6/22
Schedule for the week? Mon - off Tues/Thurs/Sat/Sun -Ride W/F- Masters
Any issues or vents? I dropped down from Tri's to Aquabikes because the running just isn't there for those distances for Tri's. I'm bummed. And clearly this means I should probably go back to the doctor to get my achilles looked at, but I don't want to.
Gosh girls, it looks like everyone is doing really great!!
IMTX 5/17
M: 60min masters swim + 60 min run T: 60 min bike/30 min run brick + 60 min hot yoga W: 60 min masters + 90 min bike R: 2.5hr run + 60 min hot yoga F: 90 min masters + 60 min run S: 6hr ride/15min run brick S: rest and eat 1000 Reeses eggs
Vents: none AWs: Just completing my weeks feels like a big deal, and I am so happy and proud that after a bunch of bumps on the road that my body is responding when it is counting the most.
I'm so impressed by this insanity. I ran into a classmate at the gym yesterday who is also doing IMTX and both you and chw57 are way more on top of training than he is - it made me feel mildly concerned for him.
What are you training for? Date? Half this Saturday, marathon on 5.10.14
Schedule for the week? Mon- off Tues-easy 3 this morning (thank goodness it felt easy at almost marathon pace) Wed-off Thursday- 4-5 with some strides Friday - off Saturday- Race 13.1! Maybe a few extra miles Sunday - Celebrate Easter with food, family, church, & rest from running
Any issues or vents? Right shin is still weird, but at least it didn't hurt during 3 miles this morning.
AW's or highlights from the last week? I made it through a 47 mile week.
Post by bluedaisyus on Apr 15, 2014 10:47:47 GMT -5
What are you training for? Date? A quarter marathon on 5/3.
Schedule for the week? It's supposed to be 4 miles tonight, 2 miles on Thursday, and 6 miles on Saturday, but with some scheduling issues I think it's going to end up being 4 miles tonight, 2 miles Friday morning, and 6 miles on Sunday. I also have some DVDs I was going to throw in there on the other days.
Any issues or vents? Just that our schedule is so crazy right now I'm having a lot of trouble trying to fit my runs in.
AW's or highlights from the last week? Not really. The weather was awesome all weekend, though. Saturday morning's 5 miles was pretty much perfect and I worked on my garden for a few hours on Sunday--no planting thanks freezing temps and snow today and tomorrow, just prep, but MAN it was so nice.
Cascade Lake Sprint Tri, 5/18 Patuxent River Rural Legacy Ride (Metric Century), 5/31--I still need to register for this.
Schedule for the week?
Mon: Unplanned rest (recovering from a cold) Tues: 2000yd swim Wed: Run with a new running group I found on Meetup. So mystery distance! Thurs: 2000yd swim Fri: 3-5 mile run, depending on the distance I run on Wed Sat: 30-35 mile bike ride with H.
Any issues or vents?
I'm not doing the Tri I've been planning to do for months bc of a scheduling conflicct, and instead doing another that I know nothing about. But I'm registered, so I guess I'm giving it a go!
AW's or highlights from the last week?
Well I've already shared my clipless adventures, but I'm still riding high on that accomplishment and really looking forward to a 30+ mile ride this weekend!
Gosh girls, it looks like everyone is doing really great!!

Any issues or vents? None....just nervous about group HIM training. The coach seems really non-responsive as of right now....kind of worried it's going to be a big let down.
AW's or highlights from the last week? Fantastic, amazing, spectacular 8 mile run on the lakefront on Saturday morning. Made me SO happy to be a Chicago athlete and see all the people out on the lakefront.

What are you training for? Date? Cascade Lakes Open Water Swim Series. August 1-3.
Schedule for the week? I have no idea. Things haven't been working out like I hoped this week. I think I'll be back in the pool next week for sure, this week is a toss-up.
Any issues or vents? I keep managing to fail at getting into the pool. Last night I was chopping tomatoes for my salad and managed to slice my thumb right down the middle. No stitches, but it was a mess and because it wasn't clotting, I couldn't go do my workout last night for fear of bleeding everywhere.
Gosh girls, it looks like everyone is doing really great!!

Oh shoot Maybe he was sandbagging? I write this out and it seems like a ton, and I am exhausted, but I certainly don't feel prepared. I know that I am based on the plan, but when I finish a 6 hour ride, I don't feel marathon ready!

I try not to think about all of this in it's entirety!
