We both train in very flat cities. Are you paying as close attention to these losses & gains in elevation, as I am? Lol
Also, I don't think I'd like setting the pace from the very beginning. I'd rather tuck behind, and jump out like a ninja in the final 5k. Lol Shalane is just going after it!

I know, right! They were showing the map and talking about the elevation changes and I'm sitting here like uhhh, ima have some serious work to do! Treadmill hill intervals maybe?
And I bet the crowd went insane when they first saw Shalane out front. She is really going for it!

I love the thought of jumping out like a ninja after 23.1 miles. I hope she can maintain the lead and it isn't just the excitement of the race that has her out in the lead.
I wouldn't be against Desi coming in all ninja-like at the end. I was looking for her. They just announced that she isn't with the lead group. The lead group needs to rein it in!
I'm glad they showed the wheelchair division start.

This is crazy to listen to. I got so choked up listening to the start on the car ride into work. I have the radio tuned at the moment at work. Why didn't I take the day off again to go watch it?

It looks like a gorgeous perfect day! So happy that our H&F ladies have beautiful weather.
I, too, wish Shalane might tuck in, but she's so competitive that maybe leading is good for her as long as no wind....
Today is gorgeous north of Boston at least. They were talking about Shalane on the radio and that is how she always runs I guess. She always pulls out in front and tries to keep it that way.
