I was planning to do the Heritage Half, but it moved up a week and I'm supposed to do 20 that day. I might try and run it at marathon pace and then do 7 more miles.
Have you done the Heritage Half? How is it? $40 for a half is a great price, so it caught my attention.
Yup, we did it last year. It is small, but there was a fair amount of crowd support for such a small race. It was similar to running a small 5k. Mr. GT did a write up on it in his blog.
I'm looking at Stockholm Half in September. Another GBCN'er is thinking about doing it too. Also, I'm considering returning to North Wales to do the Conwy Half in November. It's the one with the beautiful big run up a hill overlooking the Irish Sea. Here's the elevation graph...
Decisions, decisions! I'm doing the Napa2Sonoma destination half in late July, and I think I'll hold off on signing up for more for the time being, although it kills me to miss the cheapo deadlines. If I don't get pregnant again soon, I'd like to do two halfs this fall. There's a local one in cow country, but it looks like an out & back, which could be disheartening. I'd like to do the October very local half that was my first last year, whatever happens.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
I am doing the Andy Payne marathon in OKC, supposedly on Sept 14. It irritates me to no end that they have not yet announced the date, but it's the longest running marathon in OK, so I'm fairly certain that it will happen.
I'm also doing the Spirit of Survival half marathon on Oct 5; this will be my 3rd time to run that race, and I'm trying to make that a race that I do every year.
I hope to do the 24 the hard way ultra marathon on oct 25. It's on a 1 mile paved loop. I'd like to do the 12hr option, and get 50 miles in that timeframe. But I'm not certain that it will happen. I'm training like I'll do it, but I'm going to be very busy with school in the fall, so I don't know.
