I know it's early, but just for funsies, I started looking at daycare costs in our new city, so we can start planning a future budget, etc. I knew it was going to be expensive, but...Holy God, I almost choked. And I'm in LCOL!
I know this can vary wildly based on COL, type of care, etc., and it's been discussed before back on TN, but share, please. Feel free to include any other relevant details (center/in home/nanny, COL, PT vs FT, infants or older, etc.)
Ours is $240/week for a full-time infant at a daycare center.
It is the most expensive place in our area, but the other places have waiting lists. The one I like the best is $200/week and we're hoping to get in there eventually.
I have a nanny that comes to my house 2-3 days a week with her 10 month old son. my MIL keeps them the other days and we do not pay her. I pay the nanny $80/day when she has both my girls (4 and 6 months). In the fall it will be just DD2 and then I will pay her $50/day. But full day Pre-K is $267/month
So total it is about $800/month for the part time nanny and full time PreK
an infant in our area runs about $400-450/wk at a center (and then drops down each year to about $300 when they're 3). our nanny makes about $450/wk for both girls. MCOL

My in-home DCP is $250/week for most kids (we get a sibling discount, so we would actually pay $225/week for each kid). This includes breakfast, lunch, milk, and two snacks each day after the kids turn 1 year old.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
Our center will cost $1558/month. And that's the discounted rate (~25% less than the public rate of $2100). *Edit* Discounted for employees of H's gigantic empire of a company. We're in Seattle, so HCOL. Average cost at centers around here is $1600/month. We'll save time and money over other centers because this one is in H's building, so he'll continue to commute by bus with baby in carrier, drop at daycare, then pick up at the end of the day. No worries about getting stuck in traffic and having to pay for late pick-up.

I just did the same as you last month and was like
It was 1000-1200/month (well, actually per 4 weeks) and we're MCOL. But those places have wait lists so I don't even know if we could get my future/hypothetical child(ren) in.
$310/week plus an additional $17.50 a week for lunches (just doing this until things settle down at work and I can make her lunches again). It was the same price for infants, but goes down when she finally goes into the preschool. Probably next summer.

We used to pay $362/week and now have moved and pay $290/week, which will decrease to $260/week when LO leaves the infant room. M-HCOL. Includes all meals, snacks, milk, and the first place included Enfamil as well.
