i have all of these:
- having to pee but not being able to go in an appropriate place for whatever reason.
- trying to dial the phone in an emergency but either not being able to find the number or not being able to enter it in correctly.
- teeth crumbling and falling out
- end of the semester, and I realize I haven't been attending class
- beginning of semester, and I can't find my classes
I also have dreams about having pimples or boils, squeezing them, and cooked vegetables come out Or I dont know if i told you about the lima bean glove
- end of the semester, and I realize I haven't been attending class
I don't have many recurring dreams, except for this one. I'll realize the week of finals that I had one class that I was in but never went to and never dropped. Anxiety ensues.
I actually had this dream a lot in the year after I graduated but before I started my current grad program.

I don't have any re-occurring nightmares as an adult. But, as a child I would always have a dream that doesn't sound so bad when you type it out, but was terrifying as a child.
Something happened to my family and I got put up for adoption. I was always adopted by an Asian family (was I racist as a child??). They took me to SeaWorld and we saw the Shamu show. Shamu started swimming around and around in a circle, making a whirlpool. Then he jumped up and bit me, pulling me in. Half of me went in his mouth and the other half went aroud and around in the whirlpool.
When I was with my ex I would constantly have this dream that I was trying to phone him, but I couldn't get his number right, or my fingers would stop working, or it would just say " sorry, please check your number and try again". I hated these dreams.
Sometimes I have dreams about a forest fire breaking out on our side of the mountain.
I don't usually have nightmares. My dreams are more about being in relationships with different people. Lol.

Just two really... One where I can't find my son no matter how hard I look. I've lost him.
One where I can't get my eyes to open or focus, like when you've just woken up and walk into a really bright room and you can't make your eyelids stay open and when they do everything is just blurry. Yet, I have to take a test or do my job or run away from something. It's quite scary.
The pee dreams I have all the time and discovered that its because I really have to pee. However I never find a place and never pee. I've been able to recognize it and get up and pee.
Everytime I dream about DH being somehow mean it jealous or any negative trait he looks like my ex.

Trying to punch someone in the face but my hand feels like it's moving through wet cement and I never actually make contact with the person's face. Which just makes me more angry. Usually it's my sister I'm trying to hit.
I have the "have to pee but can't find anywhere appropriate" dream too.
Getting to college late (the night before classes start) and I can't find my syllabus. I plan to go to the admissions office to get a copy of said syllabus the next morning but end up in the student union searching for my mail box that hasn't been emptied all summer. Can't find the box. Can't find the key. Am late to first class that I don't know what it is or where it is or what time it starts.
Tornados, which also scare the fuck out me in real life.
Teeth falling out. I always dream I'm pushing them back in. +o(
I don't have the school one, but I do often dream that I'm a newspaper reporter again (I went to the PR/marketing side five years ago). The right amount of time has always passed, but somehow I never actually quit the last paper I worked for and I have a huge assignment due. My desk is always there and I'm super freaked out that I've been gone all that time and that I better have a pretty good project to pull out of my ass.

Good god. Someone's teeth falling out mention made me think of a nightmare I had in college. There was a long, pubic-type hair growing out of the inside of my bottom lip. It was gross, obviously, so I decided to pluck it. But, when I did, all the gooey insides of my lip came out attached to it. Like my lip was a giant pimple that got popped. Ugh, and I could taste the metallic blood. Ugh, the thought of it still makes me gag.
-Leaving my oboe/clarinet/instrument at home and not knowing the music (clearly this is super nerdy a holdover from high school) -Trying to pack all of my shit for some trip in a short amount of time -A random gunman shooting at people and trying to run
Honestly? The first two are usually the most terrifying.
It's not the same dream every time but the same premise: The zombie apocalypse has just begun and my group is packing/prepping supplies, or running from house to house. I never actually see any zombies in these dreams, the threat of them is just hanging out there.

I have a lot of these. Falling, teeth crumbling in my mouth, being late to work and for some reason not being able to tell them I'm running late, forgetting about signing up for a class, being semi-naked in public (usually bottomless) and trying to pretend like everything is normal. I also have dreams where I have to fight people but I can never land a punch. It is so frustrating.
And a year later I am still having wedding nightmares. I hope that stops eventually.
I'm on this huge swing which is hanging over a skyscraper in San Francisco. I can't get down and my clothes are on the roof. My view is great white sharks in the ocean and a desert full of Indian teepees and not a soul in sight.

There's one I used to get a lot when I was a kid but I haven't in a while - I was at my mom's house and there were a bunch of skeletons destroying the neighborhood and setting things on fire. I was hiding below the window in the living room and then the skeletons start to come inside and I have to get away.
I have this nightmare where I'm trying to get into my dad's old house, but I can't get in through the door because this black dog is there and he wants to kill me...like Pet Semetary style.
When I was with my ex I would constantly have this dream that I was trying to phone him, but I couldn't get his number right, or my fingers would stop working, or it would just say " sorry, please check your number and try again". I hated these dreams.
This is also one of mine. For some reason I dream that I hadn't seen H in a long time, and I'd go to dial his number and completely screw it up over and over. In my head I knew what it was but I couldn't seem to hit the right numbers. The weird thing is, since having them, I often screw up people's numbers when I try and dial them.
- I don't have them often anymore, but for a year or so after my Dad died I would dream that he came home. I'd ask him what happened, and how he was still here, and he would tell me that he's fine and the doctors just made a mistake. One of the worst was when he did this, and then passed away again. That one bothered me for a long time.
When I was a kid I would have some really messed up and pretty morbid dreams about things happening to my family. A man dressed as a bee cutting my mom in half with a giant french fry for example :-|
The pee dreams I have all the time and discovered that its because I really have to pee. However I never find a place and never pee. I've been able to recognize it and get up and pee.
Yes, that is the same for me.
Sometimes I'll be in a dream and realize I'm naked (or just in underwear) at work or with a group of friends and I panic.
Being late to work is a recurring anxiety dream
I've often been at a pool or beach in my dreams, but I have never actually swum. Like, all the water will suddenly vanish from the pool as I climb in. I don't know what it means.

oh and i dream a lot that my contact lenses are wrong. like..theyre either made of fabric, or they are as big as saucers and i'm trying to fold them into my eye..
I have recurring nightmares that I've left my kid somewhere. I usually know exactly where she is and need to go get her, but whoever I'm with is all breezy about it like, nah it's cool, we'll just run these errands and get her after, and then we get stuck in a blizzard or something and I can't get to her for a day or two.

What alot of people mentioned- registering for a class and never going, forgetting my locker combination and sitting there trying to figure it out forever, trying to call someone and my fingers won't push the right numbers.

I recently (like 2.5 years ago) stopped talking to my father. I have a recurring nightmare that H and I have 2 little kids, and the oldest is a girl, and we're at a dance recital for her and my father shows up. H and I look older, but my father doesn't. We drive a silver SUV and try to leave and I'm terrified to go back to my house because I don't want him to follow us.
I've had this nightmare maybe once every other month since I stopped talking to my father. It sometimes ends at a different point, but I always end up waking up in tears.

-tornadoes -elevators being all wonky... not necessarily falling and crashing but them doing weird things/going too fast up or down/ getting caught between floors/etc. -going somewhere public and realizing I forgot to put clothes on (I'm usually only shirtless) -beginning of college semester, don't have my books and no money to buy them -still having this one even though it's been 15 years since high school... I'm in colorguard and we are getting ready to perform but I can't remember my routines/don't have my uniform

--having my teeth knocked out again
--being trapped in a restaurant where I used to work as it slowly fills with water
--the alcoholic neonazi megashit who was my mom's 3rd H hunting me down and burning the house down while we are all asleep inside it
--H having a head injury and forgetting who I am
--something terrible is happening downstairs and I can't wake up and stop it
--things are falling out of the sky and one will hit me no matter how fast I run (examples include window AC units, church organs, houses, engine blocks, raccoons)
--the month after I had my baby, I had nightmares all the time about her disappearing or somebody taking her. I'd wake up with some serious adrenaline.

Oh one more. I was a waitress for several years (high school & college) and have a recurring nightmare that I'm slammed at work and can't get to my tables, can't get the computer to work to put in orders, forget orders, etc. It's a high anxiety dream, haha!
I don't have any re-occurring nightmares as an adult. But, as a child I would always have a dream that doesn't sound so bad when you type it out, but was terrifying as a child.

I had one like this, too! Only, it was an Iraqi family, and they'd take me back to Iraq with them, where Saddam Hussein was putting people in bear traps and lighting their faces on fire with giant cigarette lighters.
Parents, think twice before you let your kids watch the news around bedtime!
