Yay for Amy Poehler in P&R! I wish the show had a nom too..what's up with most of the Supporting Actor noms coming from Modern Family? That's strange...I also find it strange with the SNL people being nominated for "various characters". Has that happened in the past?
Ahs is not a new cast. There a new characters, but many are returning.
New girl- I watch, but it is getting tired.
Ok, but they're not playing the same characters, right? It's not meant to be a continuation of the previous series, from what I understand. So I think that's what makes it a miniseries.
I usually don't pay much attention to the Emmys, despite how much tv I watch. I effing love New Girl and it should win EVERYTHING. That's my vote.
I feel the same way about The Big Bang Theory.
As for everything else except BBT and Modern Family...meh. I'll watch the Emmys but I have no desire to watch any of these premium channel shows. I need what I watch on TV to be fluffy.

I do like the not-fluffy stuff, but I watch it months or years later on DVD/Netflix. I am shocked--SHOCKED I tell you--that Big Love wasn't nominated this time around.

Us too...we are enjoying Arrested Development Season 1 right now from the library, almost 10 years too late!

not much info but here's the basic cast info so far:

Interesting that Connie Brighton got nominated for AHS but not Jessica Lange - who I thought was amazing.
Just started watching Breaking Bad and really enjoying it. I also think the actor who plays Jesse does a great job. He just IS that character.
I'm guessing I'm the only one who just doesn't care for Modern Family. The first few episodes were great but...I don't know. Got old fast.
I don't think a lot of people are watching it, but the B in Apt 23 is really funny. Would have liked to see a nod for that - or for that show with all the 20-somethings (I can't remember what it is called) over Modern Family or Big Bang Theory.
Modern Family was hit and miss, but at least it's not from the Jurassic era like 30 Rock. Seriously, that show needs to get the heck off the air already.
People on Gold Derby are so upset that Parks and Rec wasn't nominated. Meh. I like Ron Swanson but can't even get myself to watch the show.
Supporting/Lead is up to the actor to submit, and totally depends on what politics their agent feeds them. It's often where they think they have a better chance/less competition, or something to do with their image as a lead or character actor for future work.
Sad but not surprised to see Katey Segal snubbed. Drama categories are super saturated by the same 3/4 shows.
I was also confused by AHS. Again I think this is up to the nominee to submit though.
I just this morning figured out that it's "Downton Abbey" and not "Downtown Abbey". I wondered why she was saying it funny. Oops.
We just started the second season of Downton Abbey, so I can't chime on the acting. However, if it's anything like the first season I'd vote for it. We are really enjoying it.
