Update on page 14 - Another Malaysia Airlines 777 crashed???

For some bizarre reason, the way I first read it made it seem like he was planning to hijack the plane or something. MH370 didn't even enter my mind until I saw the post on FB and thought, "Oh, duh."

Still sad and I am never going to make these kinds of jokes when I fly anymore.

It's the kinda joke I would make if I was about to board an MA plane as a "Hahahaha, I'm so nervous so I'm going to make an inappropriate joke, but seriously, just in case, here's a photo."

I just read on an airline pilot forum the fuel tanks were intact before hitting the ground.

according to the BBC:
Flight recorders have been found at the crash site, Konstantin Knyrik, a spokesman for the pro-Russian rebels, has told Interfax news agency. Earlier reports quoted rebels as saying they intended to send the flight recorders to Moscow for checking.

From the size of the debris field, it looks like the plane broke up in the air. So it would have been quick, thankfully. They probably would have been dead long before they hit the ground.

I think I read the same forum and it was just based on someone's observation of the debris from a photo. So not official evidence or anything.

I'm thinking people in these areas have different social norms than we do here. Especially considering the war and violence lately. I guess I don't really fault people for wandering around in the debris field.

A dude on Anderson Cooper said he is not convinced it was shot down, because when there is a missle that shoots down a plane you see smoke coming from behind it - a line in the sky that shows the missle's path, and there was none.

But another dude asked him if the Buk type missle, that is guided by radar and not the heat of the engine of the plane, and is intended to explode in a different matter would have created that line and that seems to be in question. 

On one hand I want to believe it was shot down because I don't like to think of 2 planes from the same airline crashing like this - it is too tragic from a quality control standpoint.

On the other hand i don't want it to have been shot down because I am on the Pixy WWIII train of thought.

I think the "taking stuff" is normal. It might not be to "keep it" it might be just to take care of it until something else is decided by police or whoever to asks for things from the crash. I remember hearing similar things from US plane crashes. If stuff is in your yard, neighborhood, etc., making a mess you feel a need to clean it up.

Yeah I don't know.  Maybe debris that is spread everywhere, but not the actual crash site.  what about respect for the charred dead bodies laying there and investigators who need to see how everything landed to determine the cause?

There was a chunk of Columbia in my in-law's yard in Nacogdoches, TX and people guarded it until the national guard could get there, and they guarded it for over 24 hours until a forensic team could get it.  Do we revere shuttles more than planes?

Velar Fricative It is quite the haul but it was about $400 less on Aeroflot than other carriers and I'm on a tight budget.
