Handicapped parking spots NO FAIR. Airline and hotel free upgrades NO FAIR. IEPs NO FAIR. Corporate cell phone discounts NO FAIR. USAA insurance NO FAIR. Ladies' night NO FAIR. Barnes and Noble educators' discount NO FAIR.
Did she really just roll up in here and say military discounts aren't fair? It's not fair that a person serving our country and protecting her freedom to come on this message board and spew this asinine bullshit get a 10% discount at a restaurant?

Attempting and succeeding to pass as 10 or under when you are 14 to eat cheap of the kids' menu FAIR!
I would watch the SP1 owns a restaurant reality show and see how long before it spins off in to an episode of Kitchen Nightmares.
Other things that are unfair are senior citizen discounts and military discounts. Also, police officer discounts as well. Everyone should have to pay no matter what age or profession. If I ran a restaurant, I wouldn't discriminate as restaurants do like that. I would charge EVERY SINGLE PERSON REGARDLESS of what profession or age or if they fought for our country. Why should they get a discount, but not everyone else? I mean doctors save lives and do have jobs that you can risk your life touching all of those people's blood, needles, etc. just as police officers are, but doctors don't get discounts.
To be honest, businesses usually want to attract police and military personnel due to safety. If you have 2 police officers who stop to eat lunch at your restaurant in uniform with a cruiser parked out front because you give out a 15% discount, it might keep people away who are looking to start trouble. So the restaurant gets a BENEFIT, which they are willing to pay for with the trade off of a discount.

But see, what you're missing here is that it's NOT FAIR.

Defrauding a restaurant / stealing from a restaurant by age FAIR. FAIR!
Is it FAIR to get extra ranch FOR FREE when people who do NOT ask for extra ******ranch****** are being deprived of that ranch? If ***I*** ask for EXTRA RANCH ON THE SIDE while I'm out eating, wouldn't it be FAIR for EVERYONE WHO IS CURRENTLY EATING IN THE RESTAURANT also to receive extra ranch?!?!?

What about Amazon Student, or parking for expectant mothers? I'm guessing NOT FAIR!

I would hazard to guess the military discount tradition also sprang from wanting to entice service members who had moved to the area to try unfamiliar stores and businesses as well as to welcome them into a community that was new to them. Most people frequent businesses they are familiar with and choose new ones based on recommendations from friends and family. If you have no history with a place, what's supposed to recommend you?
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."
Of course, since they are given to *ALL* people, NOT just some.
Well that is just patently false AND YOU KNOW IT.
Stores send the good coupons to their loyal customers all the time but us commoners have to make due with what we can find on retailmenot.
If everyone had a coupon then they would just lower the price. Since, no one would pay full price, they all have a coupon.
How about websites that increase/decrease the price of goods or services based on your zip code or how many times you visit the site to look at a good/service?
How about a McD's double cheeseburger costing $1 at some franchises and $2 at others FOR THE SAME CHEESEBURGER! UN-FAIR!
