I posted very infrequently. I did like that group of ladies and their recommendations, and look forward to getting great recommendations here, too. Since its easier to post from the app, I hope to participate more here than I did on NBC.
Same. :-) I think I posted there regularly, but I wouldn't consider myself a "reg."
ETA: That is to say, I did find NBC to be a little cliquey. "OMG, you're the best," "NO, you're the best!" "OMG, I love you so much because you love Jamie as much as me." "ZOMG, no, Jamie is MINE." Ugh.
I also have to agree that just because you don't like my favorite books, doesn't mean we can't be friends. :-) I told someone that once who said she really didn't like Catch-22 and wondered why I did. I told her, but with the caveat that I could definitely see how it wasn't a book for everyone.
What? Cliquey? I can't even begin to imagine what you're talking about. ;D
I think plenty of the true NBC regs are nice people but something new will be good IMO.
:Y: I was a lurker/sometimes poster, and got some good recommendations, but I had a lot of unpopular opinions (and that didn't go over very well "over there").
I've already posted more here than I ever did on NBC, and I love it here!
I wasn't one of the cool kids over there because of my outspoken outlander hate, but I'd consider myself a regular over there.
However, I plan to stick around here. Looks like a good group of peeps

I posted occasionally but not regularly. I don't care much for YA or chick lit, and that seemed to be the majority of what was discussed and recommended. I would love for more diversity in topics on this board. But I guess if everyone was reading different books there wouldn't be anything at all to talk about, lol.

I never posted over there, but I plan to poke around here. My IRL book club is on summer hiatus, so maybe this will be something of a substitute. Except I'll be drinking alone... Yeah, I'm OK with that.
Hi everyone! I'd consider myself a regular on old NBC but I haven't been around much this year. I'm planning on keeping up with both boards, at least for now!

We can always have a drunk book discussion night. Grab a glass(or a bottle) of wine and start talking!

Then I with my self given power approve a drunken book discussion night at least once a month!
Late to the game, but I support this idea!
I was a NBC lurker and got a lot of great recommendations there. I'm sorry more of the ladies don't want to post here, but I also look forward to new ideas.
For the record, I like the Outlander and Hunger Games series but thought The Bronze Horseman was terrible.

I like a lot of the NBC regs. They're wonderful women, but I think this is a geat opportunity to establish this as the place we all want it to be.

I'm new. I'm not even really in the book club, per se, but I read threads on here by "new topics" without really knowing what board they are on. I saw the "hated book" thread and then checked out the board from there.
I'm new to the book BC here...never posted or lurked on TN. I was on P&CE and D&R, and lurked on ML and MM. It's just easier to see all the posts here and participate.

I was on NBC. I wasn't part of the in-crowd, but I did check the board daily and post there a fair amount. I got a lot of good book recs there.
I'm happy to get this new board going, though :-). It's always good to have more people recommending books to read!
For the record, I adore Outlander and Hunger Games. I never picked up The Bronze Horseman -- I never saw a single negative post about it over there, so I just assumed I'd like it. Maybe I should re-think it before buying it!

Agreed. I really like the vibe of this board so far.

Lurker stepping out into the sun. I posted once in a while on NBC, but couldn't really join in because of the YA/chick lit focus--same username. Hoping to join in more over here!
I'm more active there now, I was a lurker for a while. My TBR list basically exploded once I started getting recs from the board. I'm interested to see how the recommendations compare from here to there. I'll read just about anything (giant nerd).
