I was in and out of the old NBC book club. After awhile, I felt like it wasn't really a place for me due to their focus on a particular genre. I would still check it out every once in awhile and try to participate in discussions, but after awhile I stopped checking it out. I like the culture of this new board A LOT!
I never went to the old book club, but I hope to discuss a little more on here...I rarely read the past few years with an infant and then an infant and toddler, but I'm slowly getting back into reading and I'm looking forward to discovering some new books.
I usually just stuck to the Travel board on TN, but with the nicer format over here I think I'm going to be posting more on other boards. We'll see how it goes since I like to stick to non-fiction.
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. Mark Twain
I used to be a regular poster on NBC a long time ago. When it turned into pretty much the NBC YA board, I stopped posting or even lurking because I got a little (read MUCHO) sick of it.

There was a big NF thread a few days ago. I don't think you're alone
I think a lot of people will be interested in NF as well. I am! We should try to incorporate some NF read alongs if people are interested.
Nope. I want to start expanding my horizons though since I mostly just read chick lit stuff. I started reading the Handmaid's Tale after all the talk about it on PCE (I lurk there a lot). I haven't been in a reading mood lately for some reason.

Hi! I haven't posted here before now- just started checking it out tonight. But I plan to post here in the future. I was Christy_Daisy's_Mom on TN. Hated that name, but the one I wanted when I signed up there was taken, and well, my name is Christy and I have a furchild named Daisy, so... that's what I came up with. Changed it when I came here. As you can see, I am sorely lacking in the screen name creativity department.

I never hung out in the NBC, mostly stuck to my local board, but I would like to join here now! I love reading anything except sci-fi and romance. The last book I finished was Water For Elephants. It's really good!

I was/am an occasional poster. I think I will hang out on both boards. The more recommendations I can get the better. I really like the Outlander series and adore non-fiction, so I hope I'll fit in everywhere.
I'm a little bit of a regular, I think. I was on there a lot but I didn't post too much although I do most of the seasonal challenges and book club discussions. My NBC name is zoieglow. I still like NBC a lot so I'll be back and forth. The more books, the better.

I'm new. The Nest is blocked at work so could never post, but I could use our paltry quota time increments to open up multiple posts to read if things got slow at work. I'm hoping this site stays under the internet-blocking radar.

I post occasionally on NBC and have gotten lots of great book recs from them. I'm excited about this board because I'm usually on my phone or ipad and it's a PITA to post on The Nest.
