As a REGULAR on F&B even I had to take a break because it can get overwhelming on the board with the influx of newbie posters acting like they're seasoned pros. If you have doubts check the glittered eyeliner post.
I wrote this because I am active on F&B and have been for a while. I still could care less about a sub board. I'm sure the regs on F&B wouldnt give a flying fuck either.
The regs on the board seemed taken aback, so... you're wrong about that. Especially some of the comments said in other threads.
ANYWAY, I like glitter eyeliner, but my makeup is leaning more towards bright glittery color lately.
This has to be the stupidest fucking thread ever. Seriously. As a REGULAR on F&B even I had to take a break because it can get overwhelming on the board with the influx of newbie posters acting like they're seasoned pros. If you have doubts check the glittered eyeliner post.
I know what it feels like to be part of that board and feel like I'm respected less for it due to the rep of the posters there. Pixy, with al, due respect you sort of started when I needed to take a break. The Blush shit and some of the posters were getting to me. to go for a more serious board like P&CE to MM it's hard to even imagine a transition reasonably. Especially when you see what is posted sometimes and your eyebrow raises like you got a bad lift.
I love me some makeup and clothing. However if you want a solid (emphasis on solid) recommendation, you'd get it from maybe two or three posters.
I totally understand e sub board, their reasoning behind creating it, but for the life of me I can't figure out the fucking fuss over the sub board.
Also. OOTD. every other board had an OOTD thread. They could have consolidated that shit for camaraderie sake. But it was kind of pointless. (plus where else was ML going to shit talk about the F&B posters?)
You know what's stupid? Two boards in our little antinest that discus makeup. MAKEUP! What are we, 12? When do we start braiding each others hair and freezing, that shit stirrer, Pixy's bra?
Oh, I totally get the name calling over something as stupid as makeup---hell, it's taken just about everything in me not to call ya'll out for women hating anti-feminists because I haven't "rocked" so much as an eyebrow pencil in almost 5 years and tend to feel any makeup is just a nice way to mask insecurities (WHOOPS)---but seriously, at least make it fun!
I'm not getting why we're calling this the antinest.
The only reason I left the nest is because they can't run a message board for shit. We didn't start this board as a fuck you to feminine discussions.
Maybe it's dumb to bicker about a sub-board or bicker about make up but I can't get on board with considering it dumb to discuss make up period.
And Smo, I adore you and I adore that you post in many places. I've been critical of f&b quite often in the past but my irritation has been directed primarily towards people who discuss fashion and nothing else. I see absolutely nothing wrong with having fashion be one of many interests.
Ragging on someone for enjoying fashion would be a bit like presuming I'm a throwback dimwit because I enjoy domestic things.
Smo - there's a line you can walk where you take makeup seriously, but you're not remanding people for liking glitter eyeliner. If your attitude is what was prevalent on F&B before, I can now see why the mm'rs might want their own makeup board. Personally, *I* wouldn't feel comfortable posting on a board like that. The vibe that's been there recently has been rather breezy, catch as catch can. I know I don't fit in well because of some of my shopping habits, but I was accepted.

This sentiment is insulting and the reason why I always felt shitty posting both places. I felt like people couldnt take me serious because I cared about what I looked like leaving the house and what happened in the world when I left my house.
Makeup and fashion is a multi billion dollar industry. While some might not be geared for positive reasons, feeling like you represent yourself well is relevant and important.
In every effort not to sound like a self righteous bitch, and likely failing, I get annoyed when people say shit like this and then see or experience for themselves how much better they feel when they've made effort. Or found a great fitting pair of jeans. The shit feels good. You feel good. People on this board ask for help for fashion often enough for me to know that it's a relevant topic.
I'm late, but I brought Vaseline, and it's not to take off eye makeup. All I have to do is take out my hoops and it's on. Pixy, all you gotta do is say go.
Also, I can give some makeup advice. However, the last person that didn't like my advice...well, let's just let the video do the explaining.

Honestly, I stopped taking this thread, suboards, and makeup suboards, seriously one glass of wine and 4 rounds of Itsy Bitsy spider ago. I'm sorry some of you aren't having the same amount of fun!

If you see my response in the glitter thread, that is how I respond to glitter eyeliner threads. Reasonably and respectfully. I hardly ever show snark because some things float people's boat that would sink mine. However, glittery eyeliner is up there and aside from the brown shade that you could barely detect glitter, it wasn't that appealing to others.
In this thread, yes, snark was mine and I own it. However, in regard to MM and even on this board, I can't see people going from a nude eye( last weeks post with soontobeka) to glitter eyeliner. I made the deduction that MMers were on the same wavelength as PCE. Could be wrong. But hey.
HAB- I didn't feel it strongly enough to stop posting. I just came to grips that some people I respected might take me as a vapid FBer. Not all people gave that impression, but I felt it enough I guess.
You come across as a snobby bitch.
I'm a lawyer, went to a very good school and did well, am successful, have a healthy retirement account, and no debt except a small-ish student loan and mortgage (never, ever had a car payment). During the week I wear conservative nude eyeshadow, along with my conservative suit (which is why I don't do OOTD - because it's boring) and pumps, yet I like to wear glitter eyeliner on the weekends.
The current culture of the fashion board is fun, lighthearted, and pretty non-judgmental about different people's taste. I love that about the board.
My job is extremely serious and extremely stressful. I love it, but come to these boards for silly, lighthearted talk about makeup and clothes. It's funny that you feel judged by people who think that you must not be able to discuss MM or CE&P because you care about fashion and beauty, because you are doing the exact same thing by saying that people who like glitter or spend money on makeup hauls don't also care about or know anything about financial issues.

Wow. I'm not sure how you got all of that, but SMO is not exactly someone I'd call snobby and bitchy.
You could have made your same point by saying you had a conservative job and liked to let loose on the weekends. By giving us your job, your very good school, that you did well, your retirement account and low debt status makes you sound...well...like a snobby bitch.
