I kind of agree though. All 3000 of us who migrated here have a sort of camaraderie because of the split. It's like going to college and having 8 of your high school classmates at the same school. You might not have known them, or even liked them that much, but dammit, you are sure as hell going to sit with them in the dining hall until you make real friends.

Of course the people who voted it in are going to see it as a good idea. It's good to see that segregation is alive and well. As for the baby boards they were crated before the tb boards were added. So that's the difference.

I don't understand why people would talk about makeup on MM. Overwhelmingly so. There's a Fashion and Beauty board where it seems like that would be an on-topic thing to discuss. Even the finances of purchases said makeup would probably be discussed on the F&B board. And if someone wanted to discuss the finances of budgeting for makeup on MM, I can't see that being so popular that it annoys the regulars.

other boards a) don't have the population we have (other than ML), thus couldn't sustain such splits; and b) don't have the history we do regarding those two topics. They've been very divisive for us in the past, and having the sub-boards is what MMers wanted. Sorry PCE and ML don't approve.

we've been talking about makeup forever on our board. It has nothing to do with finances. and it did annoy the regulars so much that we started a makeup google group. Instead of having the google group, we decided to bring the talk back to the board. So its actually LESS cliquey having the sub than it was back on TN.

I lurk on MM and never realized makeup was a huge topic. Parenting seemed like a huge topic and I can see why that sub-board was created, but I didn't think makeup was talked about as much.

We can have a Liberals sub-board where we discuss hugging trees and setting fire to evil corporations and a Conservatives sub-board where we discuss how cool Jesus was and setting fire to the IRS.
