Not sure how you would ask this, but I would want to see how many houses in your area they have listed and sold. We had a unique neighborhood and looked at two realtors, one clearly wasn't as familiar and was going with prices based on detailed analysis. But the detailed analysis (comps) left out things in our neighborhood that made things valuable (like we had a full, side by side concrete driveway while a lot of other houses had on street parking only). The realtor we hired sold a TON of houses in our neighborhood, her sign was everywhere. She knew the comps without having to do a spreadsheet. The suggested list prices were 50k different. We got within 10k of the higher list price. Oh, and both of them lived in our neighborhood.

I will say after our latest experience, to see if they have a concrete plan with timeframe ss and all, not just abstract goals.
Our new realtor has a 30, 60 , 90 plan and specifically to get the house on MLS ASAP.
Make sure you're okay with the contract length. Out first one was way too long. Along those same lines, ask what the procedure is to terminate the contract prior to a sale.

We went with a guy who was kind of a dick over a family friend. Dick had more experience and lived in our neighborhood. It was sheer luck our house sold in three days, but when the buyers tried to jack around with the closing, I was glad we chose the dick, because he laid the smack down and made shit happen.
