"With diapers in the beginning, order more than you think you'll need. Not to celebrate cheating the system, but I've contacted amazon twice about returning a box of diapers and both times was given a credit and told to just donate it."
Semi-related. What do you think about getting a 2nd pump from your insurance company for free, that you don't need, and donating it or selling it. This happened on my BMB way back when.

I remember that I was like the only one who called that shit out.

You and me both. The poster who suggested it no longer posts, IIRC. She and I did not agree with very much.

idk, technically you are paying for it with your insurance anyway.
Selling it, I don't like but it's a gray area. Donating it, I am ok with. I had a coworker get hers even though she got one through her baby shower and gave it to her SIL.
I think getting it with no intention of using it for yourself is unethical. It's a benefit of your insurance. Not someone else's. If everyone got pumps or something else "just because they could," when they didn't need it, it would affect our insurance policies.
yeah the pump thing is definitely borderline. Like if you win a contest but give away vs sell your prize. My neighbor gave away some concert tickets to her adult DS and DIL which seems fine. But selling? I don't like it
Selling something you won doesn't bother me.
The pump thing I'd judge if they're making money. I get more pull-ups from Medicaid than I need most months as dd is partially pt. I donate them to a shelter. I don't feel bad at all.

I don't think that is at all the same as getting something from insurance and selling it. If you win a prize you can do what you want with it. I would think a significant portion of people who win large prizes sell them. Not everybody can afford to pick up and move or pay the taxes and maintenance on a vacation house for example. I'm sure the people who organize the HGTV dream home contests are well aware people will sell their houses.

But if you didn't need them anymore would you still tell Medicaid you did and keep getting them just to donate? (assuming that's how it works, I have no idea how medicaid works)

I will get them until dd is fully overnight trained. I give a reasonable guess of how many I need in a given month but I like having extra on hand for times like now where dd has a stomach bug. When I have a extra 2-3 packs I donate. Technically I suppose I should cancel a months shipment to make up but I never do.

I bought a single electric pump because I wasn't sure if I would even use it. When my doctor went to discharge me she asked me if I wanted the double and when I said no she said to take it because I was basically paying for it in my hospital stay. So I took it. Never used it. Sold it on a Facebook yard sale type site for $40 bucks and never really thought twice about it.
yeah, I definitely get where you all are coming from and like I said. the selling I don't like. it just a feels ick but the donating is a gray area for me.
I mean on the flip side, if you truly are giving to a person who otherwise could not afford one and therefore this forced them into bottle feeding with formula prematurely upon returning to work, one could argue the health benefits may actual contribute to the child not getting sick as often. therefore less dr visits which helps the whole medical/insurance costs
of course this is all a lot of "could" happen, though and some very long shots. haha
honestly, I don't know all the legalities of it though as I never did claim my pump since I FF. is collecting the pump considered an insurance claim or just a benefit like how I get a reimbursement for health club dues? even if I don't use the gym. (which my conpany doesn't offer.) . just using an example.
if it's an actual claim? I change my opinion. because that would be insurance fraud.
I can only speak from my experience. The hospital I delivered at didn't offer pumps. I had to order one from a medical supply co and they billed my insurance co. I did use it, but if I remember correctly I brought just the pumping unit itself to the local kids consignment shop, sans the bottles, tubing and breast cups.
I don't know why that pissed me off so much. I'm looking for a fight today, I think.
There is a girl on my bmb posting in "bragplaints" calling her 8 yr old dd a bitch. But its okay because 1. wasn't to her face and 2. she was being one!!!!111!
