Thank you all for your kind words and for sharing your stories. It definitely helps to hear other perspectives. For those of you that opted for the d&c, were you able to work the next day? I think a lot of you are right that waiting will be really hard and not knowing when it will happen is not easy if I decide to let it happen naturally. My only concern with the d&c is the risk of scarring the uterus and having issues TTC going forward. I am going to talk with my doctor on Monday, but I do want to put this all behind me and move on.
I had my D&C on a Thursday, took Friday off for peace of mind. Was back to work on Monday. I got pregnant again on my third cycle post miscarriage and now have a wonderful 16 month old DS.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
I also wanted to thank everyone here for this thread. I just found out that I lost my first pregnancy. Not to highjack, but this info has helped me a lot. I just found out today that I need to make the same decision, and your words of comfort, though not directed toward me, are appreciated.
Dancingirl and chickadee -- So sorry for both of you.
I'm so sorry for your loss. It's been 5 days since we found out, and I'm still weighing my options. DH and I decided we will definitely wait through this weekend to let nature take it's course, and will decide early next week what to do if it hasn't. I started cramping last night and have had some today too, but no spotting yet. Best of luck to you in whatever you decide to do.

Thank you. Unfortunately, we had the u/s today with no heartbeat, growth showing 9 wks. I'm supposed to be 13 weeks. I don't know, but am thinking I'm about out of time to decide. Meet with doc tomorrow to discuss options. Had a pretty good bleed last night, which is what prompted me to call, no other obvious symptoms. General cramps, but I've had those for two months, so wth. Mentally numb right now.
Good luck to you, dancingirl, and if you want to pm, feel free. If not, I understand, too. I wish the best to you and your husband in whatever your choice. Take care of yourselves!
