Let's talk shadows. I have two big palettes (Chocolate Bar and Naked3). I like them both quite a bit. However, I want to beef up my collection with some single colors.
Colour Pop is okay. The shadows are great but I personally don't like the twist off tops. Too much fiddling.
I like Inglot shadows. www.inglotusa.com/freedom-system They are huge and I like the casing they have for them. If you live in a larger city some Macy's have counters. And I think there are stores in NYC and Las Vegas.
I have Naked 1, 2, and 3 along with a couple gift sets (Sephora Pantone and Elf). I recently bought a Benefit cream shadow at Ulta that I use basically as a base/primer. I like it! It's been staying pretty well.
I just got a couple Makeup Geek shadows and I really like them. Corrupt is probably the best matte black I've ever tried. From looking at swatches it seems like there are probably quite a few MAC dupes as well.
I also like UD, Lorac, and Dior. And I wear the shit out of WnW Nutty. I haven't tried any other WnW shadows yet. I've been wanting to try ColourPop too.
Colourpop is all the rage in the MUT. I have 4 colors and really like them.
As far as favorite brands, I don't know. I think I've moved past brands and just are really focusing on getting good palettes. The major brands have become so hit or miss lately.
I get bad creasing even with eyeshadow primer. Any reccs?
Have you considered a neutral Mac paint pot as a primer? That's what I use and I never have creases. I did have creasing from other eyeshadow primers like UD and Too Faced.

For palettes, I really love Too Faced. I have some old Lancome singles that I've always liked (and still use). I mourn the color dose line of cream shadows. They were the BEST, and any time Lisa Eldridge asks for suggestions on FB or wherever, I beg her to bring them back.
eta: I don't have any Stila palettes, but I've loved the singles I've bought over the years.
Who has tried the milani gel powder shadow singles and what do you think?
I've already commented elsewhere on this, but I will share again with the class.
I use Milani Bella Cappuccino or Caffe (I always forget which one it is) and love it as a base/transition shadow. It's very easy to work with and matches my skin tone perfectly. My only issue that I don't get the "gel" part because it's powdery to the touch and in application. Regardless, I give this a solid thumbs up.

I bought an elf palette and I'm surprised how much I like it and how well it lasts. The color saturation isn't great, but that suits me so i don't mind

I love MAC singles. I have been a collector for a long long time and have accumulated a lot. My all time favorites and repurchases are Satin Taupe, All that Glitters, Naked Lunch, Mystery, Sketch, Brûlé, Dazzlelight, Deep Truth, Jest, Trax and some LE colors. NARS makes great duos and so does UD. I am not a fan of palettes. Mine just sit around. I love MAC because you can make your own palettes with the best colors for you.
I get bad creasing even with eyeshadow primer. Any reccs?
Nars primer is the best I have ever tried. Too faced didnt work for me at all; UD was good, but sometimes failed me; Smashbox was awful; MAC paint pots are pretty good, but nothing compares for Nars for me. Try it.
I love colourpop. The twist off top doesn't bother me, but they are a little bit of a pain to store. I my next purchase of eyeshadows will be the beginners set from makeup geek.

All my singles are MAC. I've hit pan on a bunch over the years. Naked Lunch, All that Glitters, Shroom, Satin Taupe. Other favorites are Mulch, Petina, Sketch. I probably have about 40 , I'm not even sure.
My favorite before I had a reaction was using MAC paint in Untitled. I'm now using the Nars, it works great for me, but its expensive, but no allergic reaction so that's good.
