I was given an 8-8.5 pound estimate 2 hours before I delivered #2. She was 9 pounds even. I had been given a bag of fluids in between the measurement and delivery. (I have no idea if this mattered in any way, but I have heard some anecdotal discussion about IV fluids increasing birth weights. I'm not sure I buy it, and I don't put much stock in the u/s weight estimates anyway. I wouldn't consent to one under normal circumstances, but it was required by the doc that delivered her because she was breech and size matters in assessing risk of a vaginal breech birth.)

I never got a specific weight estimate from a U/S. OB measured her based on just feeling my belly and guessed 7 and a half pounds at my 41-week appointment. He says U/S measurements are "full of shit" lol. Bingo - she was 7.7 at 41w5d.
Mine were pretty spot on with the girls, but I'm a bit of a SS bc I had so many, especially towards the end. The MFM was concerned about a potential growth discordance, so I had 4 ultrasounds the last 2 weeks of pregnancy.

I was just reading about this, and apparently US is no more accurate than just palpation in assessing fetal weight. Both are pretty inaccurate though, which is part of why expectant management is the recommended course of action for babies estimated to be under 11 pounds.

I really, really hoped Ds2 and dd3 were 10+ lbs. I love me some squishy babies.
Dd1: I had weekly NSTs and BPPs from 30 weeks until she was born at 38. They all estimated she'd be LGA. At 37w6d, 8 hours before her birth, the u/s tech got 8 lbs., 15 oz and "long." She was born at 9 lbs and 22".
Dd2: I had a growth u/s at 38.5 weeks and it estimated her to be 8 lbs., 4 oz. She was 8 lbs., 9 oz at 21" at 39 weeks.
Ds1: No growth u/s. Was planning a homebirth. Midwife used Leopold maneuvers to estimate size. She was pretty accurate the last time she did it. I was 34 weeks at the time and she guessed 5 lbs.
Ds2: Planned a homebirth, so later ultrasounds are not routine. The last u/s I had was at 31w4d and it estimated him to be 4 lbs., 6 oz. My midwife estimated 9 lbs via Leopold maneuvers the day I had him. She was right. He was 9 lbs and 22" at 39w4d.
Dd3: No weight estimates later in pregnancy. My midwife estimated 8ish lbs when I was 38 weeks. Yeah... no. She was my smallest, shockingly, baby yet. 7 lbs 4 oz and 20" at 38w4d.

I had a u/s two days before and they estimated she was just over 9lbs at 38 weeks and would end up being 9.5lbs when I was scheduled for induction 2 days later. She was 9lbs 8 oz.
At 37 weeks the OB estimated AJ's weight at 7 lbs at that time-he was born at 39w6d at 8lb 6oz...but that was without u/s. My sister has an u/s at 41 weeks and baby's weight was estimated at 8#12oz then, my niece came at 42 weeks and was 7#15oz.
