I think so. I'm planning on staying until Monday so I can enjoy more time by the beach.

so... guys... I completely dismissed this GTG as not possible for me. I was working a job with an every-other-weekend requirement and was planning on TTC.

Well, I got a new job and got cold feet on the TTC front (again). Can someone send me the details? I will have to spring it on DH, but I think I could swing it... and escaping Chicago in January sounds amazing. I would probably go for the half.

Okay who is booking flights through where and for roughly how much? This sounds terrible but I haven't flown since 2008  (not because I'm afraid, I just haven't gone anywhere).  I need to try to have as many approximate costs in hand as possible before I present this to J so I don't get peppered with a zillion questions.

osulori, most of the flight prices for me have been in the $500-600 range. I will be flying out of MSP

Check flying into Charlotte also to see if it's a better deal.  hannahb skwcm80@enfuego23 - flew into Charlotte & I picked them up.  I'm happy to host for a night if flying in on a Thursday evening is a better deal  skwcm80 is coming to stay again....right?!?!!

Yeah check out flying into Charlotte. I haven't looked for this year yet but last year it was $100 cheaper than flying into charleston

By my rough count - 21-22 people.  There are a few who say they plan to come, I'm counting them anyways

My flight was 250, r/t non stop newark to charleston. Same exact flights last year was 200. Grrrr

I want to SO bad. I have a friend in Seattle and I'm dying to get out there but lack of vacation time, etc deters that. I've told DH that next year we aren't going to his parents for vacation. Maybe?

If i'm finding houses, it'll be east coast.....UNLESS we go to the Caribbean.  Then i'm up for a longer travel

Plus, it's nice to have a beach race in the winter, when the weather is still really nice at the beaches!

I'm still open to hosting a SMALL gtg here, no actual race involved It could be pick your own - bike, run, swim, water ski. We've got it all here. Or a combo of all of it!
