Ok y'all. I've been researching breast augmentation for quite a while now. Half the time I'm so excited about doing it. I've always felt inproportionate, and this is something that I've had in the back of my mind for a long long time.
Then the guilt/worry sets in.. Is it worth the money? Will it take me forever to be back in a bikini? What will people say when they find out? Etc etc...
I want to go very conservative in size. So then I think well maybe I should just find some kind of pads for all my swimsuits and call it a day haha.
I've gotten some great and helpful advice from a few ladies here So now I'm just broadening my request for insight. Anyone else been through the same thing?
Should I make a pros and cons list? Do it because I'll regret it if I don't (I think I would)? Don't do it because I'm a bit hesitant?
You should see me order off a dinner menu. I'm the most indecisive person on the planet haha.
Until you're 100% sure, I wouldn't do it. For the time being, I'd make a pro/con list and ponder the cons for a while to see if you change your mind to be 100% in or still unsure
I know. I probably shouldn't do it. If I was starting with a completely flat chest this would be a no-brainer for me, but I do have a bit to work with.
I need to just somehow make this decision off limits to me because I'm always going to wonder "what if". I guess I'll wait until after kids, which we plan to have in a few years.

have you had a consult with a plastic surgeon? I would do that - they can help you better visualize what you're looking for and answer your questions. then from there you can develop a pro/con list and ponder that for a while.

You are so pretty Adlove! I don't think you need it at all but it's definitely a decision that is completely up to you.
If you want to do it, I'd revisit the idea after kids. That's what I'm going to do. I'll most likely get them done after kids, because they will need it! haha
Yes, I have over email since I'd be wanting to travel for the surgery. I have my surgeon all picked out, he's very highly recommended, I just need to pick a date. He assured me he can give me the look I want with minimal downtime.
I think if it really was the right decision for me it would be a lot easier to make.
I'm not totally against surgery. I know a couple of girls have had their breasts done on here. I'm sure they'll chime in.
But, I am actually a fan if naturally small boobs on small people (including my own haha). I think it's attractive. I know from your pix that you're petite, and I think your boob size actually compliments your shape. But, that's just my 2 cents.

Adlove, once when I was debating about something my dad told me something like - and his wording was so much better, but the gist is - if you can't decide, and you don't have to make a decision right now, then the best thing to do is to do nothing.

I did it. I surprised myself by doing it. I was always ANTI. Nursing 2 kids changed my mind.
But, I definitely did not have low self esteem -- its just something I wanted to do for myself and the cost was not prohibitive for me (and I did not feel the risk was either.)
I did not go too big even though when sized it sounds big.
Most people don't know I did it. In fact, most people didn't notice until I told them (except for very close friends.) I think the fact that I don't display them too much makes a difference.
As for what people will say -- I just tell people if I feel like it. I am not ashamed so why hide? Most people welcome the openness. And, I don't want to perpetuate the myth that thin with boobs is very common or acheivable naturally. It happens - yes but common no.
In a bathing suit, of course, it is much more notiecable. I did, however, go to Vegas 6 weeks after and wore a bathing suit and it was just fine.
It is a very personal choice but I do not regret it one bit.
The first 24 hrs after surgery was much tougher than I had imagined but that was the only moment some regret seeped in. Now, I forget I even did it and its onyl been a little over a year.
My best friend had it done and nearly ten years later is still thrilled with her decision. They still look great, even after having a baby and breastfeeding. She went with a natural size that is proportionate with her body. Because of this, it's not something that most people will notice when you are wearing regular clothes. Good friends might notice if you are in a swimsuit or something low cut, but otherwise it's not something that is going to grab anyone's attention if you go with a size that is right for your frame.
If what is holding you back is only what other people think or how long it will take to get into a bikini (it won't be long), then go for it. However, if you are worried about liking your body after it's done, then take some more time to think about it.
Calips and godawgs! You aren't helping!! Just kidding. I've been flip flopping about this in my mind for weeks. I think if I was really sure of it I'd know.
The size that I wanted was pretty much one cup size up, so that isn't enough to justify the cons.
Yeah, I don't think that is worth it. Maybe get those pink squishy things to stick in your bra, and wear push up bras. That's a lot cheaper and much less painful.
My BF was an A cup and had a hard time finding clothes because she was so flat on top but had wide-ish hips on bottom (wide compared to the rest of her - she is a size 4). She was so flat that she really didn't even have anything to push up in a bra, and was already wearing padded bras and still looked flat. For her, the boob job made a big difference and made her much happier with her body.

I was 100% sure about it and did it and have never looked back-glad I did and would do it again in a heartbeat. I am 5'8, with a J-Lo ass and was a size 36B-now I am a 36 C or D and I finally feel like I am not all ass and I am proportionate. Do what makes you feel good about you, and do not worry about what others think!!

I agree completely with Ybee.
:Y:
Honestly, Verona is one of the few people where it looks good/natural. It looks like she had a great Dr.
But besides that, most people I know IRL get too big and/or bad work done. I think some girls who were petite now look top heavy!

ETA: I'll also admit I've considered it, but even something like getting my tonsils removed would make me freak out.
The idea of putting a foreign object in my body scares the hell out of it. Especially since it's not a necessary procedure.
This is not to you Adlove, but it does make me sad when there are women who don't feel complete without the surgery. These women with beautiful bodies-- and already have a chest!-- and still get bigger because they "don't feel women enough". Sigh.
I agree with ybee as well about size. I've thought about it too, but always with the intention to wait until after I have kids. For me, losing weight helped, cuz then my belly wasn't sticking out further than my chest, haha. That's obviously NOT the issue you have at all cuz u are tiny.

I love this quote!!
Adlove - I think this is a very personal decision. But for the record, I don't think you need it at all!!
Thanks for weighing in everyone!! Truly, I am listening to each one of you. It is a very personal decision but I think the timing just isn't right for me now. I've seen so many people get awesome, natural results, so I do think I'll do it later on in life.

Chiming in even though you already know my experience-
Very similar to Calips, except minus the kids and the pain 24 hrs after surgery. I really didn't have a time after surgery that I was in pain or wondering what I had done.
I LOVE my boobs, I did them for me and have not regretted it for a second since. I feel so much more confident now etc.
No one knows I had them done unless I tell them. Even my sister doesn't know (she can be judgmental about that kind of stuff). It sounds like you're deciding to wait until after kids, which is a great decision. Good luck girlie
Joanis- you're the reason I felt SO encouraged to do it!! Your info was seriously invaluable. I was going to go to the same doc and everything haha, he better not retire before I'm done birthing babies!
I must have been hiding under a rock or something, because I did NOT know you've had them enhanced! (non-sexual thumbs up.)
haha yep! I've only chimed in a couple of times about them, but I got them done a year ago. Seriously the best decision I ever made. I'm so glad I actually went through with it!!
