I have the palmetto and crescent moon on my car, my Clemson ring, hanging in my house, and even have a navy and white palm bathing suit. Some of this may also be monogrammed...
MD people love their flag. I see people wearing flag nonsense all the time, because it's kind of a cool graphic. I also kinda blame/credit UA.
I've never noticed a MD flag tattoo irl, but google image search pops up quite a few relevant examples.
Unlike searching for PA flag tattoos, which gets you a whole lotta nothing because who wants a tattoo of this?
I see a lot of MD flag stuff when I visit my parents outside of OC.
Most Pennsylvanians probably can't ID the state flag. It's so generic. We played Quizzo once and I was the only one of 150 adults who recognized it. And then probably only because our state rep gave DS one when he made Eagle Scout.
I blame Un of MD as well. We have a neighbor that always has something with MD on it.

Our state flag (KY) doesn't get used much, which is a shame because I like it. Instead, you get parts of the state with people who have 6 fractions of teeth, flying confederate flag because reasons. Or buying giant confederate flag beach towels, like my dad did for no good goddamn reason aside from being a racist trash bag.
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."
I love the Maryland flag! I am also a University of Maryland grad. I have a Maryland flag scarf that I wore in Vegas recently and had a ton of people comment on it.
I grew up in Georgia before moving here and it was basically the confederate flag with the state seal. Obviously it has changed since. But it's still a boring flag.
I don't even know what Ohio's flag looks like, and I've lived here 6 years.
ETA: People here are much more likely to have Ohio State or buckeye related tattoos than the Ohio flag.
People are obsessed with the state, too, just not the flag. BF has a tattoo of an outline of the state. There are lots of shirts and jewelry charms in the shape of the state or in some type of art made from the letters. Lots of stuff for each of the three Cs, too.

the washington state flag is boring as fuck, I can't imagine a tattoo of it... (eta: looked it up, and got a bunch of DC flag tattoos... because they're more interesting. And I even included "WAshington state"... so, yeah)
I looked up the Seattle flag for shits and giggles, and OMFG:
That's a messed-up looking flag, if ever there was one.
but "city of goodwill"... I like that, it gives me an excuse to go thrifting!
I think Nevada is one of the best looking flags It's fairly popular here, as is the motto "Battle Born"
I was just reading the other thread and laughed at their Nevada comment. Plus what does Battle Born even mean? I mean, what battle was Nevada born from - the Civil war? It's just funny b/c the war wasn't fought there in Nevada.
I think we all are pretty well indoctrinated to like our own childhood state's flag - it's probably something we had to learn in 4th grade. And the US didn't think they had common core in the 70's - 90's?
Yes, I think so...especially among the college-aged crowd. This website comes to mind: www.statetraditions.com/
I admittedly have a hat with state of GA on it filled in with the flag(and I'm almost 31). I also just bought my husband a TN logo license plate (not the same as the flag, but close), but it is orange & white for UT. And I'd like to note it is TN's CURRENT logo, not the montstrosity/failure that is the proposed new logo.
