My parents decided to cancel our charleston trip over thanksgiving because my siblings cannot come.
So.
My H and I need ideas. Someplace we can drive from southwest Ohio. We're hoping for five days in September. We really like the idea of a cabin or condo. We basically want to hike and have sex for five days lol.
Gatlinburg? Not too far, tons of hiking and hotels. If that's a little too much, you could do Red River Gorge, Land Between the Lakes. Or come here to NC and hike Mt. Mitchell!

We've been to the Gorge as a day trip in college. Do you have any recommendations for cabins there?
Dear lord. Please no. This is good for maybe 1 day of hiking. It is also not the best part of GA at all. If GA isn't too far, I can give you better recommendations.

How long of a drive are you ok with? If I had 5 days I wouldn't mind making a 5-7 hour drive, but it's definitely a personal thing.
I'd do Niagara Falls (Canadian side) or the Blue Ridge Mountains & Luray Caverns in VA (I think both of those would be about a 6 +/- drive from southern OH). Ignore if you're looking for a shorter drive!

Maybe Shenandoah (stay in the valley at one of the b&bs on a lake - I'm not sure about condos). Then you can hike in the Shenandoah national park and go to the wineries after. If not there, maybe Charlottesville. There are some good hotels there but I don't know about cabins or condos there. Lots of vino. Great restaurants. Lots to do for five days.
I was going to suggest a room or cabin through Ravenswood Castle, in Hocking Hills. It's my goal to stay at that castle before we leave Ohio.
We have "our" place at HH, if we end up going there. We've been there three times and stayed in the same place each time. We've never been to the castle - can you just go and see it or do you have to stay?
Brown County State Park in Indiana is gorgeous and only about 2.5 hours from Dayton and has lots of trails and scenic overlooks. Nashville, Indiana, is really cute to walk around and visit.
