Let this knowledge wash over you. I know it's difficult. You may have to go through the stages of grief. Like when I finally had to accept that, no, Teddy Roosevelt probably hadn't chopped off the top third of my great uncle's finger when they were in the Army together.
I STAND CORRECTED. Holy cow. Seen and Shawn are legit.
Well, my male cousin and I have the same name with different spellings (think Terry vs Teri), but he is like 16 years older than me and we only see each other a couple times a year.
My mom did "okay" it with her sister and my cousin before officially naming me though and my cousin thought it was neat to share a name with his baby cousin. I do think it's kind of weird though.
I can see being annoyed with it and who knows, maybe your sister will change her mind!
My sister is my MOH and I played her a YouTube video of a song I'm considering using for my processional. She listened and then told me she'd make fun of me for the rest of my life because "it was in the Twilight movie and you are now the worst person ever."
AND SHE WAS RIGHT. IT WAS IN THE FUCKING TWILIGHT MOVIE. THANK GOD FOR FAMILY BLUNTNESS.
Is it the song with "I have loved you for a thousand years"?? I LOVE THAT SONG SO HARD.
No, it's an instrumental, I think. I have to look it up. I do secretly love that song, though.
Are we sisters? Lol that's pretty much the exact conversation we'd have. We're a very blunt family

That movie ruined that song. Such a good song. Just ruined.
I really don't think it's a big deal. My dad's sister named one of her daughters the same name as me. It's really not a problem, it rarely crosses my mind.
Just because you had a child first doesn't mean that you get to control how your sister names her children. Who cares if the names rhyme? I don't see why this is such a big deal. Your daughter is how much older than her future cousin?
No you can't really day anything but I get how you feel. SIL named her kid THE EXACT SAME NAME as DS. They are 7 months apart in age and I was... Uh let's just say, annoyed.
Like PPs, I would have probably mentioned the "Maddie and Addie" thing in a joking manner, because that's the kind of relationship I have with my sisters. I also understand why this is bothersome, but I admit I am weird about things like this.

Would you mind if I named a future daughter Sadiebug?

I would be deeply offended and do my best to talk you out of it.
Because that is a horrible name for a child and I expect more from you.

I wouldn't say anything, she knows your daughter's name and nickname; but I'd insist on calling her Addison whenever referring/speaking to her and not using the nickname.

My youngest sister is Kelsi and one of our cousins who is a year younger was named Chelsea. It was a little confusing, but we didn't see them but a few times a year.

Oh yeah. Brilliant. Excellent way to live like a passive aggressive old crone. Welcome to your 70s.
My name and my cousin's name rhyme and it's no big deal! Try not to let it bother you!
/Waits for KOKO's head to explode. lol.
Elsa - this would probably mildly bother me, too. Not enough to say anything but I'd be annoyed. I think our parents' and grandparents' generation cared less about these things. My grandma and her sisters all had kids named Joseph and some variation of Mary, it seems.
