With my first baby, it broke about 10 hours after labor started on its own. I was in the tub at the hospital and I felt a pop and a bunch of fluid came out, so there was no mistaking it.
I have about two weeks to go with this pregnancy and have no idea how it will play out.
Yes, with both my water breaking was my first sign of labor. And then with both I needed pitocin because my water breaking was my only sign of labor. DS1 my water broke at 37w. With DS2 my water broke at 41w 1d.
Following...My water broke with DD and labor didn't start, so I was induced. It pretty much ruined all my plans of laboring at home for the first part. I am hoping it will be different for hypothetical baby #2.

Nope! I had a textbook first labor; water broke, contractions, progression, birth. On my due date of course.
Totally figured that would happen with the second. Notsomuch. 3 days before due date contractions started. They were all over the place. Finally went to the hospital and was admitted at 9cm (!!!!.) They had to break my water and told me to get ready to meet my baby in like 10 min. Progression stalled. 3 hours later had the baby.

Nope. Labor started with first baby when my water broke. With second the doctor broke my water when I was like 8cm or something. Labor started with major cramping/contractions with #2.
Yes. Broke at a trickle at 38 weeks and contractions started shortly after. By 2 hours, they were on top of each other but still had to have a c-section 12 hours later.
For #2, water broke fully. Contractions started 10 minutes later and were 2 minutes apart, 1 minute + within an hour (when I got to hospital). C-section 2 hours after water broke.
