I confess - I keep feeling myself up at work to see how engorged I am. I think a CW noticed. I also expressed milk into my coffee cup just to get some relief (door closed, after I finished the coffee).
I think we are the only people who are spending more money living in the suburbs than the city (and not in a frivolous way).
And my confession, I guess, is that even though we are not middle class, sometimes I feel like one of those people who is like, "But it doesn't FEEL like we make a lot of money!"
I don't think I am wording that properly but hopefully someone understands what I'm saying.
According to that link, we technically are at the very top of the middle class range for our county (based on last year's gross for both H and I combined). But since we pay child support and are paying off other debt (some CC, mostly SL), we feel way tighter than we should for the income we make. I often have to check myself and remind both H and I that we really do have a good income and there's no reason for us to feel that way except things that are our own fault.
See....this is why I always click on them even when I am tired of trying to help someone name their baby.
Not really drama. But there were several "ew, Lucy is such a kid's name" or similar comments.
Since Macy has a similar sound, I'm familiar with the criticism. But there are plenty of adult women with these names. Then again, many on this board seem inclined to name their babies after bald, middle-aged accountants (lol), so my taste is different.
I also dislike one of the popular names mentioned in that same thread, which is a super minority opinion, but I keep it to myself.
Random- As I kid I remember being stressed that my name was a "kids name" and it would be silly to have it as an adult. I was worried that I would need to change it when I grew up. Probably because there weren't a ton of adult Courtneys in the 80s.
Honestly I still feel this way about my name. I have never liked it.
I can't stand The small things blog. Ive been reading gomi about her for the last hour.
Ooh I still like her!
What's the good dirt on Kate?
I liked her before she had kids. Her style is fug...same gray tops thay aren't flattering and ugly braids. Her hair used to be super cute and now it looks like she needs to chop most of it off.
I get being a mom is hard but I stopped reading when she seemed to complain all the time. I know it's her blog and she can say whatever but she rubbed me the wrong way a lot. She also photoshops really bad. Which I never notice until gomi points it out.

I did a search to see and it was pretty tame. I was hoping to be more offended. My MIL said much worse. Sadly that probably encouraged us to use the name more.
UO: people make going to Disney way harder than it needs to be
I hope this is true! All the posts I see on here make it sound like such a stressful vacation to plan that can be ruined by one wrong decision. Not that we're even planning to go any time soon, but good lord...
I may never go to Disney because of this board yet I open all of the posts just to be like...
By GP do you mean getting or got? Are you expecting missy?
Got - I am 17 weeks! lol
Woowoo - I think I knew this but totally forgot. Congrats!
I think GBCN needs more folks to stir the pot and add some fun. MM is sort of boring b/c most people have control of their finances. It seems like everyone agrees on CEP (even though it's still a hilarious board). And the pregnancy and mom stuff is getting pretty standard.
It drives me crazy when people say "I'm just going to bury this in here." By writing that, you are calling attention to your post, which is like the opposite of burying it.
I got irrationally annoyed earlier when I saw someone comment that "most" families are in the 25% marginal tax bracket.
Wait why?
Because I don't think it's true. It 2014, the 25% tax bracket starts at $73,801 for MFJ filers. Taking into account that that is taxable income, not AGI, so it excludes exemptions and deductions. I just don't think "most' families make that much.
I almost replied to the When will you go to Disney post with NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, I don't get the appeal. I could visit my folks at the Jersey Shore for peanuts. There's the the beach, boardwalks, water parks, Great Adventure, etc. Or I could fly (no thank you) and drop $$$$ at Disney.
I don't get it. Not for a second.
ETA: FWIW, We live in the suburbs of DC and feel pretty short on cash sometimes.

Oh ok. I was worried it was because you were pissed you were above that rate
I'm actually in the 15% bracket, which is kind of the reason it annoys me. I've seen some people give advice or make comments assuming that everyone is in the 25% bracket and it may be wrong.

I find name posts sooo boring and never open them. I don't even know the whole Piper joke.
I like the name Lucy.
I keep seeing names like @missy1 and @starry on the new topics feed so I click and get all engrossed in a thread then as I go to write something, I realize it's GP and not here. It looks quite busy there.
On that note, where is natablue? She was one of the mainstays on GP when I was on there.
Crap, I just realized I have a $600 pharmacy receipt for which I forgot to submit a reimbursement form. Who forgets about someone owing them $600? This girl!
I had a very long on and off relationship with my first love and his girlfriend, aka the "other woman" was Lucy. So my confession is I cannot see that name without thinking of the girl who was my competition in a bad time. Sorry, Lucy moms! I do not associate it at all with the know it all peanuts character, lol.
I think I will put down a deposit for the Oasis in October 2016 through Costco. One balcony for me + my husband and one for my sister + DD1. $2800 would be the total for both rooms which is somewhat MM?
I think the Allure is better (and newer and better shows) if you are talking about what I think you are.
We went for our honeymoon in 2011 and paid around $1400 for an outside balcony. Request the 14th floor, great views.
Don't. I don't want to live in the suburbs, either. There's nothing wrong with that.
I thought I hated living in the city, but I realized I just hated living WITH A DOG in the city.
Now that I'm out in bumfucknowhere, I miss the inside suburbs. I'd KILL to live in a walkable location again.
I'm the opposite. My dogs are reactive to strange dogs -- they are actually so much better now that we see other dogs rather often, unlike back in our suburban-like neighborhood at the outer edges of the Philly city limits.
redheadbaker I have a leash reactive dog. OMG the off leash and super long retractable leash dogs in the suburbs. In south phily there would be off leash dogs sometimes, but this is ridiculous.
You have just THREE laws to follow if you own a dog. License them, use a damn leash!!, and clean up after them. How hard is that?!?

Omg I hate this crap. Like, I'm glad your super friendly dog is good off leash, but when he runs up to my leashed dog, my dog will go balls-out crazy and attack.
We had an incident when DS was a tiny baby. A lady had her giant pit off leash - thing came around the corner and attacked my dog. Thank God DH was there.
