Afternoon Friends! Whew, trying to get caught up after a week away.
Can't believe your move is so close, G22! Sounds like you'll have a lot of support once you get there to get you settled. When was the last time you lived in Canada, loira? It sounds like you've had some adventures!
I'm glad you're starting to get bits of reassurance cactuscookie. I'm still feeling incredibly inconsistent movement that I convince myself could be anything else. I also have these strange sensations of feeling her move inside me, but no kicks. Like, I can feel the shift in fluid? This sounds crazy now that I type it out. Anyway, it's so hard for me to detect what is and what isn't at this point. I'm sure we're just in the same boat. I keep reminding myself that the chances of something going wrong at this point are very slim, especially with all the testing we've had done.

Yes yes yes yes yes. Exactly.
You're just three days ahead of me, I believe, and it sounds like we're in the same boat right now!
ssg73 lots of good thoughts for your FIL the surgery goes okay, how scary. That's so sad they have to sell the house too. We just had to do that with my dad's house in beaver creek. It's really hard to leave the memories!
KB have you had the twice baked potatoes from whole foods prepared section? It is SO good and must weigh like 3 lbs each potato. And the best part is you just stick it in the oven and it gets all perfectly crisp and cheesey.
Uh, no but now I need one. There is a new WF that just opened near my house. Oh baby....this is going to be good.Â
You do need one. Baby needs it!!! Please update me with your thoughts. My mom went and picked one up for me but bought the sweet potato version. It was okay but nothing like the regular one. Delish!
loira where all have you lived? You have lived 1,000 lives, I'm jealous!! What great memories you and your DH must have from traveling and living in such neat places!

Wow, some big big moves coming up!
I have an appointment Wednesday but no ultrasound scheduled. This'll be 18.5 weeks and we have the anatomy scan 2 weeks after this. I've been feeling movement for awhile but still definitely get anxious if it's been awhile - my crazy dreams have been reflecting that. :/

France and Brazil (by myself), and South Korea and the UK (with H). I liked Korea the least, but that was partly because we were teaching small children and I caught every virus known to man. We do have great memories, though. I figure we can't count on retirement so these were our 'golden years'.
Regarding movement, the 19 week update on my pregnancy app this morning said that baby is only awake for about 6 hours a day. That doesn't leave a ton of time to feel movement, especially with the chances of their awake time overlapping with your sleep time or while you're otherwise too distracted to notice movement.
Also, I'm so glad we're all going through this together. Makes it a great deal easier to feel okay and normal.
So I had the appointment yesterday with the OB nurse at the base hospital. It went fine, just a lot of paperwork. I called today to schedule my first appointment with the OB there and I can't get in until the 18th! This is going to be a long 2.5 weeks. I'll be almost 14 weeks at that point. The only good thing is that there is an MFM there if the OB thinks I need to see one.
ivy, that makes sense. I tend to feel movement only at certain times of the day, usually when I'm relaxing right after dinner. It's still pretty light nudges, so I'm sure I'd never notice if I were sleeping or walking around.
Question: what does MFM stand for? Is this something I'll have to be familiar with when I move?
I was 5 weeks yesterday. First appointment is Thursday. I'm TERRIFIED! After 2 years of Secondary IF, I'm so afraid that this baby won't stick or that we'll have issues. We went through so much with my son who's now in a good place, but he was born very prematurely and with many issues (thankfully all fixable!) and it was rough! I don't know if I could do that again!
So for now I'm just hoping for a good appointment. I have been crampy since my BFP but no other symptoms. I know it's still early. I seem to remember feeling bloated early on, but I don't have any of that yet. I hope that's not a bad sign

I've been tracking daily symptoms the whole pregnancy, because I'm OCD like that, and my notes around 5 weeks say "almost completely normal". It seems like most people don't get major symptoms until about 6 weeks.

Cramping was my earliest symptom. I had it from ET all the way until mid-1st tri. I told myself it meant baby was snuggling in and was good. It felt like period cramps, which made me think my period was going to come at any moment. I hated that. I don't remember too much bloating at 5 weeks. I think that start around 7-8 weeks if I remember right.
Glad to see you over here! Let us know how Thursday goes!
Thanks cactuscookie and G22! I looked back on my other pregnancy and I did have bloating at 5w but today's only 5w1d so it could have been later in the week. Plus, every pregnancy is different. I guess we'll see on Thursday!

Wow so exciting that moving time is almost here G22 and loira. I hope it's as smooth as possible.
jessnpaul cramping is so normal! Completely unsettling but a very constant symptom we all mentioned in first tri. Other than the cramps, I felt completely normal until some nausea and fatigue set in around 6 weeks.

After a good appointment on Friday, it's finally starting to settle in that this is happening. We have done nothing to prepare so are planning to set up some doula meetings this weekend and start cleaning out the baby room. I also promised to pick dates and guests lists for our baby shower hosts. Very excited but still seems so strange.

So after my little freakout over the weekend, I've felt the baby every day this week, and multiple times already so far today. So I guess now starts the phase where I start worrying when I go a few days without feeling anything.
Muddled have you tried sleeping at a recline maybe? When my back hurts sleeping on it flat or on the side hurts much more. I'm so sorry though! How many weeks are you? The last few weeks are so hard.
Last Friday we found out there was no heartbeat and the sac was already collapsing. I went to my ob to discuss a D&E since my re wasn't available til sept 21. I had the procedure done on Monday. He punctured my uterus in the process so they had to make 2 incisions to go in laparoscopically and it took an hour instead of 5 minutes. I flew to Oregon Wednesday night to spend time with my sister so that has been a good distraction.
thank you all for your encouragement, support and kind words over the past several months. I wish you all the best with your pregnancies and babies - I can't wait for you to hold your little ones in your arms for the first time. There is nothing like it!!!
