Had an appt today and still no weight gain!! I am pretty overweight though so I am okay with that. My doctor wants me to lose, I have lost like 5lbs at the beginning...I have a long way to go to be in a normal weight category.
This post sincerely scares the crap out of me. I know my doctor has been upfront, she told me no more then 25 lbs, or it be unsafe for me anyway. I guess I be eating salad and grilled chicken everyday when I am pregnant, plus exercising more.
Both pregnancies were fairly similar (I just started out 5 lbs. lighter w/#2...)
Total: 33ish lbs.? I had a bump in my weight gain at 22-23 w where I gained several pounds quickly and then averaged a pound a week until 36 w. when I stopped gaining.
My end point was almost the same for both pregnancies (so I gained a little more w/#2, but I'd started out a tiny bit lighter): it truly felt like my body had a set point for where it wanted to be while pg.

I swore up & down that I was going to eat healthy and work out like I had been before I got pregnant. Then week 6 hit and my ass wanted carbs and the bed at 5pm till the next morning. That lasted till at least week 16, then it was 100+ degrees in Chicago and I sat inside all night.
I'm glad to see lots of you gained a pound a week and some didn't gain for a few weeks. I'm hoping I have a few weeks of no weight gain since I am able to walk more and can stomach some fruits & veggies now.

I gained 30-35; I kind of stopped weighing myself towards the end. I delivered at 38 weeks on the nose. I gained 1 lb the first trimester and then consistently gained a pound a week after that. All women gain weight differently. My BFF gained most of her weight the first two trimesters and then kind of leveled off after that.
I asked my doctor and he said to expect 35 to 40 since I started out skinny. I thought I would have to pig out to gain that much. I ate healthy and gained over 40. My scale battery died at the end so I lost track. It was a lot of water weight from the summer. I dropped a lot fast, but held on to five lbs until I started to wean and got food poisoning. I now weigh 4 lbs less.

This makes me laugh b/c it's EXACTLY my experience, too: I was running all the time when I got pregnant and thought it was going to be great to run throughout, but my body had different ideas...
I gained 32 pounds with my twins. 9 in 7 days, which is one of the issues that lead to my hospitalization and delivery a week later at 33 weeks.
A lot of people commented about how small I was which actually created a lot of anxiety. I am petite. The bump and the internet kept talking about 20 pounds by 20 weeks. I was no where near that. I kept thinking something was wrong. My doctor was fine with my gain though.
