Last appt with my OB here on Friday. I go for an ultrasound and BPP, so I supposed I can thank GD for allowing me to see our little guy a few extra times? My H gets to come to this appt and I'm excited to see how much our boy has grown since the last time we saw him. I'm also hoping he's still head down, because the way he moves all over the place, sometimes it feels like he's laying transverse in there.
And then next weekend is moving time. Excuse me while I use a paper bag to breathe into! lol And in other news, my sister got engaged this weekend, so I guess we know what our first trip back to the US will be for
How exciting for your sister, G22! Don't worry, the move itself will be the worst part. Once you're there, it will be awesome.
No appointments for me this week, just waiting for our a/s the following week. I've been doing lots of moving prep - sorted out my clothes etc. Also going to meet up with boiler717! Everybody be jealous!

Dw is 17 weeks. A little over a week until our next appointment. The appointment with the mfm for the anatomy scan is at 2:30 and I am hoping that I can make it. I need to figure out if I have last period free or I need coverage. Need to figure out someone to watch dd too. I don't want to miss an ultra sound but it is hard to just leave my students the first weeks for school. Tuesday is my first day with students. Gulp. I am not mentally ready for that.
The exciting news is that we got a new contract and the paternity leave was changed. It used to be two weeks that had to be used right when the baby was born. Now it is three weeks and can be used in any way you want. Dw is due the first day of my February vacation and we have been told she will not be allowed to go over so I could take some time when the baby is born. Have my vacation week in there somewhere and then take some time when Dw goes back to work to delay daycare for a week or two.
We are headed to the OSU vs VT game tomorrow and then I have my NT scan. I've been told that the baby may be to developed (13w4days) for the scan to be beneficial but its another chance to see the baby so I am excited!
Also, I'm half hoping if it's (I hate calling it, 'it') too developed then I would get to do a MaternT2i test and have an early look at the babies sex.
Did anyone's doctor/tech offer a guess of the sex at the NT scan?
Good luck this week G22! Sounds like you'll be busy!
A/s is a week from tomorrow, so we're getting excited about that. We met with a doula yesterday. It was an interesting experience. We'll probably talk to a couple more before making any decisions. Also, H felt the baby last night. I thought we had several more weeks, but he just happened to catch the strongest kick I've experienced so far.
We're busy whipping the house into shape this weekend. Lots of tiny loose ends to take care of to finish up several projects. Contractor is coming Tuesday to start on our master bathroom remodel. When he's done there, he'll start on the second bath. Really looking forward to getting those out of the way. I hope they don't drag out for months. I'm not sure I can handle that at this point!
shoeless, no one would venture a guess at my NT scan, but they did offer the Harmony test while we were there. Hoping the same for you! Regardless of sex, I felt better about the results than just the NT.

Ummmm jealous you are going to that game! I was all excited for college football yesterday, only to realize OSU didn't play til Monday.
Good luck with NT scan! They didn't guess that early for me, but I was ok with that. I'd rather wait for a for sure answer than a guess.
I had bloodwork on Thursday but with the holiday i won't get my results until Tuesday. And my second beta is Tuesday. Friday is my first ultrasound.
I feel crappy Kinda nauseous and tired. Gassy, acid reflux, etc. Isn't pregnancy glamourous?! The only symptom I had with DS was exhaustion so i wasn't expecting this. It is what it is. I'm going food shopping later and stocking up on saltines!
No really symptoms here other then the occasional cramp or so. But I'll take it. I'm a ball of anxiety which is giving me headaches all the time. At my first appointment I think I am going to mention that to my OB. (Sept 14)
We told my parents yesterday, they are both so excited. My dad looked like he was going to cry, and my mom did cry, which made me cry.
We have decided not to tell my siblings yet or DHs family. We are going to wait until at least the first US.
jessnpaul- I am going to stock up on saltines next shopping trip.

A week ago all I had was cramps. That changed quickly ;-)
That's great news ssg73. I'm jealous shoeless. Have a great time at the game! It wasn't fair to make us wait until Monday night and then I have to get up for work the next day. I'll be texting my boss and telling her I'll be a little late Tuesday morning.
Now that I'm 12 weeks I'm hoping the morning sickness will start going away. I'm so tired of getting sick every morning. I don't an appointment until the 18th.

We're visiting my mom, stepdad, brother, brother's girlfriend, and gf's son. Add in a gaggle of animals and it's a full house!
I'm 20w2d. The babies have been kicking quite a bit over the last few days. I can't wait to see what positions they are in at our next appointment (Friday)! I really hope I am actually feeling both of them and not that baby boy has flipped sideways or something.
shoeless, the perinatologist guessed the sexes at our NT scan (just before 12 weeks), and then the tech at the OB's office guessed two weeks later. They were right.
Trying for #3; FET 8/18 -- BFN. Leaving things up to chance for now... After three years, three IVFs, and two FETs, we finally have our miracle babIES!
Did anyone's doctor/tech offer a guess of the sex at the NT scan?
I had an ultrasound with my OB at 13w4d, and the tech took a guess at the sex. I got the Panorama results the next day and found out that the tech was right.
awick14, what a cute reaction! I'm glad you have such a great support system. We told my parents right away, too, but no one else. We didn't even tell my in-laws until after the genetic results. I was so glad for my parents' support and good thoughts. Also, I had terrible headaches most of first tri. I never figured out if it was a pregnancy symptom, or whether it was a by-product of my morning sickness and dehydration.
shoeless, how come the NT wouldn't be beneficial? Are they not able to get an accurate nuchal measurement beyond 13 weeks? I'm genuinely curious. I hope you get to have a test that will give you some reassurance.
I didn't ask about the sex since we were having the CVS, but I do remember the doctor getting a shot right between her legs at around 14.5 weeks and I didn't see anything penile and thought to myself it might be another girl. Of course, this was all to my completely untrained eye, but I ended up being right. I guess I had a 50% chance of that anyway lol.
shoeless, the tech guessed at the NT scan, then confirmed at a 16w ultrasound. It should be confirmed again next week at the anatomy scan.
Personally 12w looked so vague to me, I didn't trust it till the 16w, when it was very clear.
I had an amnio at 17w last time and the tech guessed wrong! She told me not to start decorating the nursery but she thought girl. My now 3 year old is 100% BOY ;-) So either she had no idea what she was doing and/or they can't be trusted to get it right that early!

18 weeks and starting to actually do some preparation. I've emailed a few doulas to set up some times and started looking into birthing classes as I hear they fill up fast. I worked an event with our NFL team this weekend and everyone had comments about my due date (the super bowl) and it was a pretty hilarious day watching all these guys touch my belly and advise the baby on an exit stategy. Anatomy scan is in 2 weeks and I think I'm starting to identify some sensations I've had for a couple weeks as actually being baby.
Funny note about finding out the sex... we are not finding out so after our 8 or 12 week ultrasound, DH was being really strange and he finally confessed that we need to tell the Dr that we aren't finding out immediately. After asking him, he tells me it's because he saw the penis and went through our printed out pictures and showed me one saying "see there's even a picture." After laughing, I told him to look at the size and location of the "penis" and he still didn't get it so I finally told him it was the umbilical cord.
loira- we told our best friends as well, we have been through so much together and supported each other so much, including me going to her D&C, so telling them right away made sense. Same with my parents, before we told them I think my dad figured it out but he didn't say anything to us. (We are camping with them all weekend and I'm not doing stuff I normally would, drinking, atving etc.)
Defiantly waiting for a while to tell the ILs, they will drive me crazy if we tell them now.
loira at some point the fetus isn't as translucent as they need it to be to get measurements (I guess?). I've heard some places quote 12w5days and other say up to 14 weeks for being able to do the NT scan. My place warned that it may be possible but that I'm right at the end of the window so they may not be able to get all the measurements needed.
Hello mamas! So excited for our trip. Wearing some maternity compression leggings and that was an event getting those on. They are more comfy than the socks though! Hopefully I do okay on the plane.

I wore those for flying to Spain and will again this week for the long flight to Germany. I didn't think they were too bad to get on, but only because they are not anywhere near as tight as the compression socks I use for running. I did notice they made me waaaaay warmer than usual with them on, especially on the plane since those can be stuffy sometimes. Just a warning. I'm usually freezing on planes.

I'm worried about that! We have lie flat seats so I would think that's not a big dvt risk, my doc said I didn't need to wear them. They may come off mid flight

Ok I'm super jealous of your lie down seats. Here I am excited over my aisle seat but that's an awesome option.
I really only noticed I felt super warm when we first would board the plane, because they don't have the air running well then. Once we got up in the air I wasn't too bad, but definitely warmer than I usually am. I usually need a some sleeves of some sort, but I was perfect in a tank top.
Jess, heartburn is one of my main symptoms right now. I just cannot eat like I used to. On Saturday we stocked up on saltines, pretzels, jolly ranchers, and sprite. I've only had to break into the crackers a few times but my nurse said the nausea doesn't usually really get bad until around 6 weeks so I'm ready now. I'm also trying to seriously follow their anti-nausea diet starting tomorrow.
Boiler, I am so jealous of your trip. Have fun!
Hi, all. I'm 5w5d and it seems like it's been an eternity already. The bleeding scare on Thursday night did not help my nerves. I go in for one more repeat beta tomorrow morning. Not needed but my nurse ordered it "due to patient anxiety". Ha. My numbers were already starting to plateau (3354 Tue to 7662 Fri) but she said seeing a rise might help me. Next ultrasound isn't until next Wednesday (that was actually supposed to be my first u/s). On Friday, at 5w2d, the gestational sac was measuring 5w0d and the nugget was measuring 5w5d so hopefully everything is still on track and we see the heartbeat.
