@traceyjax-my first OB appointment was at 6 weeks and my next one will be at 11 weeks. It seems so far away. (But I do get an u/s appointment with the tech on Oct 8th, 9 weeks, and because my old high risk OB is amazing he is doing an u/s this week for me, which is not the norm for sure.)

In the UK, when you're considered normal (no prior history of m/c, ectopic etc) you get your first scan at 12 weeks. Obviously you can go into the EPAU at any time if you think there's a problem, but they don't bother with 8 week scans.
I have everything crossed for your scan on Tuesday.
So many appointments this week. Can't wait to hear the updates from them! I have 3 more weeks until my next appointment.
We were going to go public on FB yesterday but the day just got away from us. My H is going to post our announcement today since he had to take time off (or he would lose it). I didn't realize it would make me so nervous to put it out there. I have no problem with, and actually love, telling people either in person or on the phone so i don't know why FB is so different.
I have to go to Salt Lake City for a training class for work in 2 weeks and still haven't booked a flight. I should probably get that done this week. LOL. I've just been so swamped at work I haven't had time. Since it's for work I don't want to spend my time at home looking it up.
Lots of appointments this week and I hope there's a baby Muddled soon!
Nothing going on here. DH has bronchitis. It's like ultimate man cold. Lord help us. I started cleaning out and organizing all of DD's clothes. My goodness would it have been nice if this one was a girl. Good news is I don't think I'll end up spending nearly as much on his wardrobe as hers. I had my AFP blood work done on Thursday so should get that back this week.
Oh and learned a lesson after last week too. I waiting until 16 weeks to do all the prenatal blood work (like ghonorrhea, HIV, etc testing) and because I waited so long they did 6 tubes!!! Don't put off blood work! I only put it off because I was getting weekly blood draws at my RE so didn't want to have more pokes than necessary.
bcarp30 - i had all that testing done at 8 weeks and still had 6 vials of blood! My OB is nuts apparently.
I'm kicking myself because last week at my OB appointment (8.5 weeks) she offered to do another u/s for me in between then and my NT scan BUT I TURNED IT DOWN! I feel like I've been missing a lot of work lately due to appointments so I didn't want to be out yet again and having to explain (since no one at work knows yet). But now I have to wait until October 20th for my next peek at baby, which seems like FOREVER! My nausea has gotten better but the exhaustion still exists. I just hope everything is okay
Hugs, jessnpaul! It's such a screwy thing, PAIF/PAL. I felt mostly fine all weekend, so I was freaking out, and then nearly puked on our entire 3 hour drive home from the airport. Ahhh

Back from 1st u/s (ETA: 6w0d). I don't really know what to think. There was one gestational sac. RE didn't identify any other structures (e.g. yolk sac), but did say he saw "fetal development". The sac is irregularly shaped. He didn't take any measurements (because of the irregular shape?). I asked if the shape was cause for concern, and he said "that's what I'm looking at" but didn't actually answer the question. At one point during the u/s DW thought she might have seen a flicker of a heartbeat, and he said he thought he saw "something" too, but couldn't find it again.
At the end of the appointment I asked him about the chance of miscarriage given what he's seen today, and he said about 10%. I go back Friday for another u/s.
Anyone have experience with irregularly-shaped gestational sacs? I'm going to try to PIP, in case that helps.
Congrats dellabear! Lots going on this week! I'm looking forward to hearing lots of good updates!
Not much excitement this week. Baby has been going wild the last few days, and the movements I feel are crazy. I woke up in the middle of the night on Saturday to some sort of intense party going on in there.
23 weeks tomorrow and starting to get a little stressed by the complete lack of preparation we've done.
Does anyone else think we need a new post it for all these pregnancies? I am having trouble keeping track of where everyone is. Which is a totally great thing!
Well we came out on Facebook today which is exciting. Dw wrote a totally sweet post about struggling with if/miscarriage along with the picture. I thought it so sweet.
Another two weeks until our next appointment. So nothing for us for a bit. Dw is starting to feel movement but nothing to regular. Looking forward to being able to feel it. When should that be???
thiswillbe, how far along are you? At my first ultrasound at 6 weeks, the sac was crescent shaped - almost a little sliver. I don't know if it was necessarily irregularly-shaped, but it looked different than every other ultrasound I'd ever seen. No one said anything about it.

It's so hard that early, thiswillbe! Mine was just a few days more (6w4d), and I swear, the sac looked totally empty, and then she shifted the wand, and we saw more. It's crazy how tiny it all is at this point. So, I don't have experience, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you! When do you go back?

Thanks Mushe. I'm in the waiting room right now. I did pee on another FRER and the test line was way darker than the control. That has to be a good sign, right?
thiswillbe I'm sorry your appointment was confusing and is creating stress! All my appointments were later so it was definitely obvious when there was a problem, for better or worse. Did they do blood work? I'm glad they're getting you in on Friday by ugh what a long week!

thiswillbe - I'm sorry you didn't get solid confirmation that everything is progressing as you'd like. At least you don't have to wait long for another appointment. If you can...try not to google. I know how hard that is. At my first appointment, at exactly 6w, the doctor was only able to find a flicker of heartbeat and then couldn't find it again. That was disappointing but didn't really worry me, but then he wrote on the ultrasound picture something about the sac being in the "cornu". I wasn't sure what that meant, so when I started getting impatient for my next appointment and more information, I started googling. Apparently it means the embryo implanted in the upper corner of the uterus (cornu means horn), and it's often a type of ectopic pregnancy. I freaked out, even though the doctor hadn't expressed concern about the location at all. Everything was totally fine at the next appointment, fortunately.
I'm sorry you came away with mixed answers thiswillbe. I hope Friday brings more definitive ones. I don't know much in terms of irregular sacs, but at 6w0d not seeing a clear heartbeat isn't unheard of at all. My RE didn't even have me schedule my first ultrasound until 7 weeks to make sure there would be one. My understanding is the heartbeat forms on average sometime during week 6, so its still early.

Ditto this. Mine wouldn't do my first ultrasound until 6w4d because she's like "you won't see much before that". It was tough to wait but I'm glad we did in the long run.
((thiswillbe)) we had an early u/s last pregnancy and I lost it because there was no heartbeat at 6w0d, I knew it was normal but after 2 losses it wasn't comforting. They wouldn't do my u/s until after 7 weeks this time. (It will be 7w6d when it's done.)

26 weeks today but I feel like I woke up in the 3rd tri. My pubic bone just aches every time I stand. If I sit, I keep getting BH. If I lay down, my leg goes numb. Give me a break, body! Hopefully if today counts as the 3rd tri to my body baby will come early

21w1d today! Baby is cruising along and measured right on track at A/S last week. Is currently hanging out butt and back up so we have a repeat scan to get the other 2 heart chambers and some profile measurements but everything else is good.
We are just about done with our registries which is good because the first batch of shower invites goes out in about 2 weeks. My computer decided to stop hating proboards so I can actually check in this week

I'm sorry thiswillbe. I'm glad you don't have to wait too long for the next u/s and hope it goes quickly for you. I had a similar experience to PP that I couldn't see anything until the Dr had it at a perfect angle and things are so small and change so quickly at that point in pregnancy, that a few days make a huge difference. Our Dr won't do anything before 6w3d because of how variable the results are sooner.
