*nods*. Moisturization is my life's work. After eating and sleeping, it's how I like to spend my time.
i'm with you here. every product i put on my being is for the purpose of helping it retain and acquire moisture. i would die without lotions and creams and oils.
Like that question "what three things would you want on a deserted island?" Chapstick, lotion, and conditioner.
Follow up question: what is the temperature of you shower/bath water?
Mine=hot as possible DH=lukewarm at best
I have tried for the last six years to make him understand that if dishes need to be washed in hot water to get clean so do your balls!
So hot that sometimes I am forced to jump out slightly teary-eyed at first. But then I can ease in. Yummm. I'm so afraid pennypenny is going to say that super hot water is germy like she told us about the hot water on toothbrushes. But since I'm a part time dirtbag, I guess it's okay either way lol.
If start talking bath products, this will be the best damn off-topic thread I've ever been in. Everything about a bath is just so wonderful. Washcloths, water so hot you could cook some ramen or my toes in, bath products, fluffy towels. A bath is really a mini spa treatment.

MH is always like, WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO SCALD YOURSELF?
And I'm like, THE HOTTER THE BETTER.
If I am not lobster red after I've gotten out of the tub, it was not a successful bath.
I will also admit to occassionally only brushing once a day (morning of course). If I'm feeling lazy I'll just cheat and gargle with mouthwash for a minute before bed. Somehow it seems like less work than putting toothpaste on my toothbrush, brushing, rinsing, and then rinsing off my toothbrush. I don't pretend this is rational. If I have a migraine I will also avoid brushing if at all possible. The sound alone is enough to drive me insane at that point.
Water must be burn your skin off hot. H likes his water so cold even our 4 year old makes fun of him. Wtf weirdo, wash your balls with hot water.
Anyone want to talk face wash and moisturizer. I've never used anything until recently when I realized I'm no longer a spring chicken. Any recommendations?
Lol!
I'm on an all Dermalogica regimen now, with the exception of a Skinceuticals serum. I'm quite pleased, but I'm kind of a skincare groupie. I love everything for at least a while and then I'm off chasing the next one. I don't think I'll ever leave this stuff, but I've said that so many times before .
How old are you? What is your skin type? What are your concerns?
@kirkette because she loves skincare stuff, too, and has lovely skin.

You guys. We are doing the work this evening. Strong theory and strong comeback lol.
I use the rice exfoliant of this.
Same! I would love to use it twice a day every day, but I can only use it 3-4 times a week now. My face is so sensitive it's annoying. All I want to do is scald, scrub and exfoliate it raw, but it won't let me . That powder is very gentle, though...which unfortunately, just goes to show how sensitive my skin is.
I've been testing out the overnight moisture cream from Origins. It hasn't broke out my skin yet, so I'm calling it good. It's helped the fine lines around my mouth.

Yeah the med spa derm lady told me to stop with the Clarisonic and don't use any scrubs ever on my face and to use that rice exfoliant. I love how smooth your face feels after you rinse it off.
I had to give up my Clarisonic, too. It was so hard. I have to concede, however, my skin somehow feels softer. I don't know how in the black magic hell that's possible.

When it's all said and done, Origins is just making some of the best moisturizers in the game. They're so rich, so creamy, not crazy expensive, and of course, you never know, but I bet it won't make you break out ever. They know what they're doing.
I'm all over that Everyday Shea Bodywash.
Dang it, pennypenny . Well, like I said, I'm part time dirtbagging it anyway.

I mean it is, but I love a hot, hot shower that makes me have red patches on my skin. And when I am taking a looooong pixy0stix unapproved shower I gradually turn the water hotter and hotter.
My H on the other hand is barely lukewarm. I have no idea how you feel clean in that. Or don't freeze to death.
I've been good this thread! I haven't mentioned water wastage at all!

I really appreciated it. I thought about that when I mentioned the two baths. I would like to say, however, since they were mentioned earlier, that I no longer flush the wipes. I am doing an uncomfortable dance between of trashing them and therefore, buying far less of them because that kind of grosses me out, but bottom line, I no longer flush them.
I don't do baths. I agree that it feels like your sitting in dirty water. The hard surface also hurts my bones.
I do have extremely dry skin. I love the baby oil gel. It lasts about 12 hours on my skin. Many nights I do lather my hands with Vaseline and wear cotton gloves to sleep. That works well also.
Ah, the classics--Vaseline and baby oil gel. I used some of the gel a few nights ago, so it's in the rotation, but you know what I don't like about it? It seems so artificial like. Like, I love the moisture I get from it, that's just damn amazing. I also like that I can put it on wet, because it is my preference to air dry while half wrapped in a towel anyway. But there is something about it I can't put my finger on that always makes me wish some higher end brand would do a better version. Also, even though this is no one's fault but my own, I used just a little a few weeks ago and then put on a silk shirt. Well, you know how that ended. Oh, and I don't like it for my feet, so I end up using that on my body and something else on my feet. It's good, but I find it has imperfections.
KateAggie, you have to allow me to be complex, okay...much like baby oil gel, I am not perfect!
Team washcloth. We almost came back from England because we couldn't find washcloths anywhere. We finally found some marketed as dusting cloths but we didn't care. Hotels never had them, though. No wonder everyone on the Tube smelled so bad.
Sometimes I use a pouf. I like the lather.
They are called Face cloths. And sold everywhere you can buy towels. Like John Lewis, Debenhams, M&S, etc.
Chalk up the smell on the tube to the lack of a/c. Awful.

I use cetaphil face products on recommendation from my med spa face people
Me too, on the recommendation of my derm. Also Cerave. They're interchangeable to me.
@tooshort - you best be using an SPF on your face, neck and chest!!
1. stopped using washcloths after I grew out of grimy kid hood 2. still use washcloth sometimes to clean ears 3. sometimes use wash cloth between showers and before sexy times to tidy up in nether regions.

If you love moisturizer can I introduce you to Bliss body butter? I'd probably leave my husband for it if forced to choose. Lemon and Sage is my all time favorite.
I still feel like washcloths don't do nearly as good a job as puffs/loofahs. I clean them at the same time as my shower with some Kaboom. Rinse the shit out of it and you're golden.
i don't do baths because i don't know what the hell i'm supposed to do once i'm in.
i can't slouch too low or my hair gets wet and fuck that.
i can't read or mess around on my phone because WHAT IF I DROP IT?
i can't read a book because then my whole arm gets cold from staying out in the air and i have to dry off my other hand to turn the page and omg annoying.
i always get so excited to take a bath and then i'm like, "welp! might as well down my wine and go rinse off now!" 5 min in.
Oh my gosh, you can do everything, but the main thing you can do is relax!
I don't read books, only magazines, because then I don't care about them getting wet.
Today, I had like a 30 minute conversation with my friend on speakerphone while in the bath. Sometimes, I feel kind of awkward because I have had a couple friends ask me if I'm taking a bath, but I usually laugh and say, "Am I doing what? Oh gosh, you're so crazy." Only two of them know that I probably am taking a bath.
I GBCN from the tub.
I leave the door open and talk to my husband.
But most of the time, I just lay back and relax until my near boiling water gets lukewarm, and then I'm ready to split.
@tooshort, 30! That's baby skin! You are definitely only seeing any signs of aging because of the sun. I also hope you were in Shanbrite's thread and therefore, either have made an appointment to have your moles checked or will soon.
You need a good face wash, a moisturizer with SPF and something with an antioxidant probably would be a good idea, too. Some people like toners, I don't care about them, but they can be good for shrinking your pores. You'll likely want a toner or mask for that. But what is your skin type? Oily, dry, combo? Hard to say without that.
laurenpetro, I like Bliss butters, but you know what? They are still not enough for me. I have to mix them. I also think it's a little nervy to call yourself a butter but be something I can squeeze from a tube.
You guys, I feel bad about sharing this but... One of the ladies in one of my groups LOVES baths. She will take hour long baths. She'll eat in the bathtub. So one day she posts a pic of this piece of meat floating in water freaking out that her skin is coming off after being in the water so long.
But no, it was a piece of her arby's sandwich that fell in while she was eating.

Hand to god, this happened.
I have gone for a 20 mile run, sent my h for Wendy's, and sat in the tub watching Netflix and eating fries Lolol. :-#
