I didn't get my paycheck yesterday. I then got reprimanded for sending an "inappropriate" email requesting it. (I'll admit it wasn't worded all warm and fuzzy, but FFS, this was my fourth late paycheck this year.) I then got told that hey, it's a small place, and if Check Writer is out of the office on payday, I'll just have to deal.
I was then subjected to a lecture on how they have "serious concerns" with my work. I won't go into the details, but it was overall an awful conversation. We're supposed to meet later this week to discuss these concerns further. Great. I spent the next hour crying in my office with the door closed.
I probably won't be around much in the weeks/months to come. I don't think I'm going to get fired at the meeting, but I'm really trying to step up my game so that I don't get fired.
And if I can get a job in a completely different field or area of law, I fully intend to quit with no notice. Reap what you sow and all that.
Oh no, I am so sorry. I think it's completely unacceptable that they cannot even pay you on time. But I guess there is nothing that you can do about it, especially after today. Hang in there. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you can find something new. Looking forward to the day where you can say "fuck off." {{{hugs}}}
That's awful. DH had a job where his paycheck was routinely late and once bounced, and it was so stressful and miserable. I hope tonight's job application pans out and you can get the heck out of there.
Wow, I'm sorry you have this put up with this. It must be very stressful. I'm fairly new so I don't know your backstory but I hope you can get out quick. Do you have some sort of labour board you can report your employer to? I'm pretty sure you are entitled to your pay on the designated day and shouldn't have to ask.
serious question - if the cheque writing lady is going to be out on cheque writing day why can't she write the damn cheques before and date them for cheque cashing day?
Aren't there laws about being paid on time? I know you don't feel like you can push back, but I would be so so so tempted. I really hope you find something soon. I'd document everything regarding your pay and report them as soon as you have a new job too.

I think tosa looked up the state requirements, and they have something like six days to comply.

Which is insane. Or that you have to request it first.

I can't believe what crap you have to put up with. You deserve so much better. ((hugs)) I hope you get a much better job soon and can tell them to F off
On another note, I wore pantaloons today and thought fondly of you

I cannot tell you how much this actually made me smile.
I was out with a friend on Friday night, and she mentioned that she doesn't like to wear skirts without tights because her thighs rub together. I looked at her and said, "Have I got a solution for you!" and promptly pulled up pantaloons on my phone. HAHA.
