EllenGriswold, I didn't have any symptoms until 6 weeks the first time around. This time, however, is a different story. I haven't slept well for the last week, all day (including middle of the night) nausea, and no appetite. Yet I have to snack constantly to help my stomach. I definitely feel pregnant.

I can't say I'm really jealous of this but I wouldn't hate the reassurance. I am waking up to pee in the middle of the night, maybe that's my first symptom.

Definitely a symptom!
I'm thankful that so far I haven't thrown up but it's probably coming.

Some backstory: I have lost 100 pounds since 2012. I carry a lot of excess skin in my lower stomach. So it's hard to tell if i'm starting to show yet but there is this new fat roll above it that is pretty firm compared to the lower fat roll. So I am thinking it's the beginning of a bump.
I have only gained 4 pounds through IVF and the first trimester which I was pretty impressed by. Except today I tried on a few outfits to see what I will wear tomorrow for my first day back at work and I look like Violet Beauregard. How can I look this huge if I've only gained 4 pounds?

two hours. i made it TWO HOURS in jeans before i had to bust out the ponytail holder. AND i weigh less right now than at the start of IVF! babies man...they mess you up, lol.
22w2d (how?!!!! This is flying by!!) with a baby boy. due 3/6.
Currently have my 3rd sinus infection since I've been pregnant which is less than ideal. I got them a lot with DD but now there was some study saying sudafed isn't a category C anymore? So I'm trying to just use the Neti pot and sinus rinses instead.
We are trying to figure out names now, DH and I are locked in battle. He wants to use the middle name Paul which I don't like. It's his middle name and his grampa's middle name but the first boy I ever kissed was named Paul, and DH's step dad is Paul and he's awful. Plus the first name I like is James and I wouldn't want people to call him JP because my last serious boyfriend was JP and I wouldn't want my son to be even remotely connected to him in anyway. So, we will see. Thankfully we still have ~17 weeks to decide.

Names are a nightmare for us. We have nothing. This kid is going to come out as Jane Doe.

I didn't decide on a name 100% until Z was placed on my chest and they asked me what his name was.

bcarp30 James was at the top of our boys list...but it's my brother's middle name and he was to name his (hypothetical) son James [brother's first name]. We decided it wasn't worth the family drama, but I'm still kind of sad we can't use it.
Trying for #3; FET 8/18 -- BFN. Leaving things up to chance for now... After three years, three IVFs, and two FETs, we finally have our miracle babIES!

I knew DS was going to have his name from the moment I found out he was a boy. I have always loved it and still love it. It suits him perfectly. For some reason a girl is really throwing me. I want her to have a name that is cute on kids but can be professional when she grows up. I have a few I like but DH is so "meh" about everything that it's killing me.

Naming humans is hard!
It is! Especially boys.
We named the Muddlette after my aunt, who happens to have the same name as my mom's middle. You can guess what Mom is telling everyone. Lol.

This is exactly how I felt about DD and feel about this baby haha! Of course the names I like he's not enthusiastic about. He also likes the name George but then we would have a Charlotte and a George.

That's so annoying! DH doesn't love James because it's my uncles name and he goes by Jim. I told him the reason why he went by Jim is because his older close cousin was already a James. And my cousin is James and he only goes by James! No 5 year old is going to call the child Jim. I also LOVE the name Whitcomb which is my uncles middle name but DH really doesn't like that. It's my top choice. Or to name him James Whitcomb and call him Whit.

LOVE THIS. tell him you have to, lol
You are my people! He is making me think I'm crazy for liking that name.

I love Whit! I don't know if you are aware but James Whitcomb Riley is a famous writer.

i am STAUNCHLY in the last-name-as-first-name camp. or middle name. it sounds so...southern. but not like Paizlee Bryelle southern...cuz that's heinous.

We have both boy and girl first names, but I feel like we are going to struggle with the middles. And I'm kind of a fan of the double middle but H is not. Lol.

we're the opposite! if it's a girl, she'll have my middle name (which is also my mom's) Faith. so we gotta find something to go with it.
as for boys, we go between my mom's maiden name and DH's first name (since his middle is his dad's first, i like the family connection).

Edited:
My husband is Paul ****** the 4th. I know he wanted a Paul the 5th and I was like "no way". Thankfully my MIL was on my side or else I might not have won that battle! But seriously, what can you do with Paul besides call him "Paul"?! Not Paulie (ick). Not Junior (super ick!). And his middle name is god awful... if it was a good middle name I could have rolled with it and called him by his middle name, but there's *nothing* I can do with ******!
We compromised and used Paul as the middle name. My son's first name is Benjamin. The middle name *rarely* gets used, so really I wouldn't worry about it too much. And also, you can pick his nicknames for the most part. I *hate* Benny or Benji and some people call him that (daycare teachers mostly). But with family and friends he's definitely Ben or Benjamin.

Ditto for me, but it'll be John Doe in our case ;-)
There's names I like but nothing I *love*. DH hasn't offered any suggestions, but last time the only suggestion he offered was Jeffrey (no) which I vetoed quickly.
If it was a girl this would be so much easier. I already had a few name choices that I think I could have gotten DH on board with!

We have a few names we like, but it's hard to commit.
We're struggling more with the middle name. I want it to be a family name, but both of our mothers will get passive-aggressive if we give the baby the other grandmother's name. And our mothers are equally good people and good parents and will be good grandparents. Neither of them have other grandchildren named after them. I don't really care how it sounds with the rest of her name because I never plan to call her by her middle name.
The obvious solution is to not choose either of their names, but the only other option is to choose someone's name who the baby won't have any real connection to. Plus, I'm annoyed to be choosing my daughter's name based on pettiness.
jessnpaul, see in my mind having a boy is like a compromise right there so I should get naming rights. I have learned with a Charlotte that you as the parent can dictate a nickname easily but apparently DH has forgotten that.
boiler717 I did! My OB who is from Indiana told me. My dad's side of the family is from OH and Whitcomb and James are both family names so I need to see if there's some relation.

Ditto the boy being a compromise... albeit one I didn't get a chance at winning ;-)
I totally get naming rights since I'm the one who has to carry this child! But I at least want DH to like (or at least tolerate) the name too!
