Everything within a 50 mile radius of me is at least a 70/30 split in favor of Obama. In many zip codes, the split is higher. I just looked at the entire state, and there are only 5 zip codes listed that favor Romney.
Yet there is no way in hell this state will go blue. Go figure.
Looks like its the opposite here too. Around 60% of my neighborhood and all neighborhoods surrounding it would benefit from Obama, but this is the most conservative voting district in NYC.
I checked how I'd benefit personally and Romney would benefit me more lol. But not by much just in terms of tax benefits. It must be Opposite Day!

I'm about 65 Obama. I live within a few miles of where he grew up, so I'd hope he takes care of us
The only red spot on the island is Hickam AFB. Oddly enough, the other handful of bases, some quite large, on the island, including co-located Pearl Harbor, are all blue.
My husband and I would get considerably more money back in taxes from Romney. I would still vote Obama if I were American. I am a dirty socialist Canadian tho, so no surprise there.
Most of the state is pretty even. Cities are strongly Obama, a few scattered towns are Romney. Eastern CT is Obama, and lower Fairfield county is Romney. Financially speaking, these make sense. We would personally benefit more from Romney. My town is listed as 50-50.
Looking at the country as a whole, CT is notable more 'neutral' colored.
Checking out my mom's zip code and my own, there seems to be an inverse relationship between who would benefit from a candidate and who is likely to actually vote for them. Hmmm. . . .
Our neighborhood is 63% Obama 37% Romney, but if past elections are any indication, we'll be about the only blue home out here. Our neighborhood is red-red-red.
My parents' neighborhood, on the other hand, is 38% Obama 62% Romney, and my parents at least will for sure be voting that way. I guess I should refrain from getting into political debates with my mom. But it's so much fun!
More telling was looking at our extended families' areas. Most of our family members live in small farming communities that would heavily benefit from an Obama win according to the infographic, yet nearly every last one of our rural relatives hates Obama and thinks DH and I are nutty socialist America-haters for supporting him.
Lurker here. This is really interesting. Most of West Virginia would benefit from Obama, it seems, but he is so, so unpopular here. I think the most recent poll showed he had like a 25 percent approval rating here. WV will definitely go Republican in November.
I'm with mx (since we probably live pretty close to each other). My hometown, though, is 76% Obama, 24% ROmney, yet will undoubtedly go red. Yay for voting with your Bible instead of your brain.
Its interesting that around us, all the wealthy neighborhoods will allegedly benifit more if Obama wins and the poorer areas will benefit more if Romney wins.

My neighborhood in Baltimore is 70% Obama, 30% Romney. For laughs I also put in my old ZIP in DC and was surprised that it was the exact opposite. Guess this tool isn't taking into account which president supports taxation without representation.

Hmmm...so an area like mine that will vote for Obama against its self interest... What are they voting with instead of their brains? Septimus would argue their vaginas, I guess.

Well why else would all my neighbors vote against their self interests and vote for Romney? Do all those Romney voters lack brains too?
It seems that the personal measurement is based on how much you make, and Romney benefits you if you're rich. I can't figure out the local measurement though. In my state it seemed to have less to do with rich areas being benefitted by Romney (although that played out a little) and possibly more to do with areas that are typically Republican anyway?

Oh, or possibly areas that are more rural?
the website has a whole section on their methodology & in it they state they said they focused on financial plans.
Holy shit. According to this, we would do astronomically better with Romney. It's kind of painful to see. But, I couldn't in good conscience say "screw everybody else, I want my money."
