It's so ridiculous, it almost seems sarcastic. Some of her quotes are pure gold though. The paleo diet gave her kid super-human strength, beauty, and straight teeth, yo!
Holy fucking shit, this needs a serious warning - she posted A PICTURE of her placenta, frozen with a side of lemon. She saved it in her freezer with plans to eat it.
It gets worse. I've been up reading this blog ever since I saw this post. Some of her posts include: "Symbiotic relationships with parasites" and a post about how she eats all her meat raw, sometimes even rotten. WTF.
OMG she feed her daughter "blended veggies with lots of butter" at 6 months. Seriously I don't think lots of butter is good at any age lol. So lots of butter is ok but vaccines are not...wack job
She doesn't eat any fruits or vegetables! She literally only eats meat, seafood, animal fats, eggs, non-fat yogurt, and cane sugar. And limes. She can have limes. I cannot imagine the hell of having to include this woman in a dinner party.
I just don't understand this kind of outright rejection of all modern medical and scientific knowledge. Vaccines = bad. Vegetables = bad. Cooking food = bad. Obstetricians = bad. Copious amounts of butter = good. Rancid meat and dairy = good. WTF? It is all very mothering.com
I have got to step away from this blog. I just read her post about how NICUs are bad for premature infants. Had she had her baby at 33 weeks, her plan was to just keep it at home and do kangaroo care.
Even if one jumps on the "modern obstetrical practices are bad for mothers" bandwagon, I just don't get how you can deny that advances in neonatal care have dramatically increased the survival rates for premature infants.

I know someone who follows the primal diet and he's also very much a "true believer". I don't think it is shocking that a person who eats well most of the time feels good. However I really doubt that diet fully explains her child's successes.
I also think it is weird the she doesn't eat greens. I though greens and LOTS of greens were a major part of the primal diet.

whoa. I didn't read that. my mind is blown.
She does acknowledge that a hospital is definitely necessary for a baby born at 28 weeks or earlier, and possibly 32 weeks or earlier. But after 32 weeks breastmilk and lots of skin to skin should be sufficient.

I love this quote from her blog (because there are no emotions involved in raising a child):
Interestingly, I have determined that at least for myself a carnivorous diet is not perfect either. A carnivorous diet comes with its own set of emotional complications, namely no emotions. A carnivorous diet makes me Vulcan.
This wouldn’t be much of a problem if I had remained a single mom with no emotional investments (raising children is a job, and doesn’t have to be particularly emotional)
I know! I love the Vulcan part. And how she goes on to say that being unemotional was normal for primal people, who just buried their dead then went about their business (and she knows what emotions prehistoric people did or did not experience how?).
Apparently human emotions are really just an unfortunate side-effect of a suboptimal diet.
