My stomach is feeling sore on the sides. Normal, just from growing?
Did anyone's blood pressure go down? I went to urgent care Monday for a sinus infection and it was 89/51. I usually run low, but that seems really low.

From what I understand, your blood pressure is supposed to go down in the beginning. Almost immediately after getting pregnant, your blood vessels expand to get ready for all the extra blood you'll have by the end of pregnancy, except you don't have the extra blood yet. It's the cause of a lot of uncomfortable pregnancy symptoms - headaches, dizziness, maybe even the nausea. (The timing kind of seems silly, evolutionarily, but I guess our bodies know what they're doing.)
I definitely get sore sometimes, and I think it's normal. Drinking more seems to help with that too It's a delicate balancing act between drinking enough and not drinking so much that I have to stay within 50 feet of a bathroom, lol.
I definitely get the sore sides and that stretching feeling over my abdomen with baby growth. I find massaging my belly with lotion (sometimes 2x daily because I feel so dry) or with massage oil helps.
I haven't had low BP just some high BP at times where my OB sent me up to NST for monitoring. Usually they take my BP right when I come in for an appointment and that walk from the parking lot to the clinic just wipes me out. Now my OB lets me rest before doing my BP because of being winded (and I have asthma so that doesn't help either).
My question, anyone have a prenatal massage? I'm scheduling my first one and don't know what to expect.

My prenatal massage was awesome. I was on my side with pillows to prop me up/ between my legs. It really helped my back. Must get around to scheduling another one.
I say the stomach soreness is normal - it's all related to RLP (round ligament pain). But if you're concerned, never hesitate to call the nurse's line.
And yes, my BP has been low - it's always been low, but it seems to be a bit lower. I've heard that it's normal in pregnancy. It could also be because of you're not feeling well? (Not a nurse/doctor, so I am just guessing.)
Question - did anyone else seem itchy earlier on on their first tri? I'm 5 weeks. My hands and forearms seem much more itchy than normal. Not like crazy all the time, but enough more than normal that I notice it.

I went every month during 2nd tri, and every 3 or so weeks in 3rd tri. They were awesome. I also had one the day I was 39w and I had her press on pressure points to bring on labor. It might be kind of woo, but I did go into labor late the next day! #anecdotes
Until the last one, I would start face-down on the table, in a pillow made to accommodate a pregnant belly:
and she'd do the first half that way, and then I'd roll over onto my back for the 2nd half. It wasn't that different from my regular massages aside from the pillow, except that I wanted to use someone who was familiar with pressure points to avoid them until I was full term. Just like usual, I would undress down to panties for massages. I was probably less discreet than normal when rolling over just because it's hard when you're big, but I'm sure LMTs who do prenatal are pretty used to that.
39w was the first time I was too big to fit in the pillow (most women get to that point a little sooner) so she did my 39w massage side-lying with a body pillow. I felt a little more exposed, sheet-wise, doing side lying, but it felt really good anyway.

How did your glucose screen go?
I passed! Thanks for asking. I'll go again at 28 weeks.
I normally have high BP when I'm not pregnant, and when I was pregnant with DD my BP got pretty low in 2nd and 3rd tri. Of course, mine went right back to normal after I had her Kind of wish the low BP would stick around, ha ha

I don't remember feeling itchy, but I've definitely learned not to be surprised at any strange things pregnancy throws my way (hello increased saliva! lol).

As soon as I hit the third tri, I started having a lot of general tightness. It's worse later in the day and at night. It doesn't feel like Braxton Hicks (my uterus doesn't get hard) and it's not painful. This is normal, right? I've just been assuming it's growth, but sometimes I worry that I should call just in case.

I did. My skin was really dry for a little while so I think that's why. Later on I had a really hard time with allergies, which also made me want to crawl out of my skin.

I was SO itchy and my skin was so dry in early first tri. I was actually at my dermatologist's office for a check up and she commented how dry it was. I told her I was pg and she said "Oh! That's hormones then."

I always run low too and in my last pregnancy I had a few episodes of feeling extremely faint and dizzy. Actually it's happened a couple of times this pregnancy too. OB has never said anything at my appointments though.
Susie Thank you! I really hope for the belly massage table option, I miss lying on my stomach!
@sterl724 I still get itchy when it feels like baby is growing. I think it's from your skin stretching to make room.
PennyCandy I know what you mean, it feels like a fullness to me. Sometimes after I eat, I get it too.
lifetaketwo I would say yes. I'm a stomach sleeper and slept on my stomach until it became uncomfortable. I use a body pillow under my belly and it reminds me of sleeping on my stomach to help me sleep at night.

I hope it's normal, because that's been my biggest discomfort recently. It doesn't really seem like BH to me either; it seems like it's my whole belly, and it doesn't phase in and out, it's more constant.
I've been doing about 15 minutes of yoga every morning, and I think it helps, but I still get the tightness in the evenings sometimes.

YES. My tip is to find a place that specializes in prenatal massages, and call and ask if they have the special pillow so you can lay on your stomach. Trust me. I had my first prenatal massage at a regular spa where they propped me up on my side. It was good not great. Then my friend got my a gift certificate for a woman who does womens/prenatal/postnatal massages and she had this special padded insert where your belly goes....and it was like, a thousand times better. I ended up buying a package and I'm going to go two more times before the birth and then try to go semi-regularly after the birth.
ETA: oops, missed Susie's post! Yes, exactly that pillow. It was great.

Those on baby #2, when did you start showing? I know everyone says I'll start showing early, so I'm trying to prep for hiding it as much as possible until we are ready to announce.

I was really bloated right away so kind of showed but more just couldn't wear regular pants. Then I got morning sickness and lost weight. I started showing to me about 12/13 weeks and more obvious at 15 weeks? I am having triplets but was on the small side until more recently.

I started to pop out a bit maybe a week earlier. Honestly, only I noticed even then.
I was in a show at the time, and dancing around stage in a bathing suit, and no one noticed a damn thing. I closed the gig at 20 weeks. People were shocked when I told them; they don't realize how flat my stomach usually is, only I know that lol. I'd say it was noticeable to others by 24-26 weeks?? Last pregnancy I was 26-27 weeks before I truly looked Pregnant with a capital P.
I'm 28 weeks now, and I feel very pregnant, but in truth, I am still small enough that people at DD's junior gym class couldn't believe how far along I was.

I didn't show any earlier than before, around 4.5 months. The bloat int earlier on though had me convinced I would be HUGE, but it went away around 12 weeks

I was really surprised that I didn't show any earlier this second time around. It was about 14/15 weeks both times that there was a small noticeable bump if I wore something tight but no one else would probably have guessed baby bump at that point. I did start wearing maternity pants a few weeks before that however since it was so much more comfortable and why not?!

I have another one. Are pregnancy or body pillows worth it. They seem huge and expensive, but my hips are killing me at night. I have to roll over at least every hour, which wakes me up.

I had one yesterday. She had me start with laying on my back. I was propped up on a lot of pillows so I wasn't flat. Then I moved from side to side. I had her focus on my back and hips since I've been sore lately. She also helped with a couple of stretches. Just make sure you are communicating with her on pressure and what feels good and what doesn't. I felt a little awkward for a little while, but eventually relaxed.
