I'm looking at the cruise website now trying to decide when we may want to secure child care for both kids. We may just want to play it by ear once we're on the boat but for now I think I will book few time slots in case it fills up quickly.
I'm waiting to hear if DH got selected for his conference in October again. He won't know until the summer though. Boo. If he does we're doing Beach Club!
As much as I love BLT if pool time is a priority do Beach Club. If not do BLT.
BTW if you are at BLT use those pool hopping privleges & head over to Grand Flo. It's super easy & a fun change of pace. The splash pad at BLT is BORING. But BLT is awesome in every other way
How long are you going? I think I read someplace you can switch hotels on property and they do the luggage moving for you while you are at the parks. I might be tempted to try both if you are going for a week. Our friends who have a 2 year old told us they really like Wilderness Lodge because you can take a boat over to Magic Kingdom and take a stroller on it.
I've done this a few times. There is like a 5 hour period of potential " roomlessness" but otherwise it is very easy
We just got back last week. I'm thinking next time we'll rent points and do a studio at Beach Club. I think unless something changes money wise it's looking like Nov '17

I have been back like a week and a half. & am getting the itch already! Looking at Dec 17 Or Jan 18

It's too FAR!!!
I know! And of course DS1 is all 'I can't wait to go back to Disney' all the time so that doesn't help.

Same for me. I can't wait to go back.
In the meantime, I have a Disney cruise question: We're going on a 5-night Disney cruise in November that leaves out of San Juan. Anyone have hotel recs for 2 nights before the cruise? Something preferably not too far from the cruise terminal, fun for kids, with a decent beach and/or good pool, and with suites (so we can have our space before cramming in the cruise room), etc.
If you decide to do a split stay, you don't have to have things packed up as neatly as you do for air travel. We put a lot of stuff in those big stroller/car seat bags like shoes. We also had a few grocery bags for groceries.
I didn't think switching was a big deal with 3 kids, but we weren't as settled as we might have been in a 2 bedroom villa - we were just in a studio, so that could make a difference.
We are doing Beach Club or Yacht Club next time. We had dinner at Yachstman Steakhouse last December and checked out the resort while we were there. We loved the vibe and DD hasn't stopped talking about the "totally awesome" pool since.
We are planning on a Spring 2017 trip, too! We *may* end up going this November but we'd have to go over Thanksgiving and I don't want to deal with the crowds.

I just got an email from my dad about our Jan 2017 trip. He can book in two weeks and we are hoping to get 8 nights in a Grand Villa at OKW. I'm excited but also nervous about so much togetherness with my parents and sister. We will see!

We are staying at beach club in November with ds who will be 27 months. We thought he would like the pool but we will love the access to Epcot for the food and wine festival. Beach club has walkable access to both Epcot and Hollywood studios. Also there is the boardwalk entertainment at night. Not trying to seek you on beach club but these were our reasons.
I think January or Feb 2017 is our current goal. How crowded is MLK weekend?
We went MLK weekend this year, and it was crowded on Saturday-Monday, but not too bad. It was much more crowded when we went in September 2014, which is supposed to be low season. We did pick parks based on the crowd calendars and avoided MK until Tuesday. And, the rest of the week was wonderful. We walked onto tons of rides, had almost no waits for lots of characters, etc.
Anyone have any genius tips for dealing with heat at DW? We are going in June and I am verrrry sensitive to hot weather. I burn and overheat easily, even when using sunscreen and chugging water. Adults only trip.

- Any quick serve place will give you free iced water. - Most indoor shows/rides have air conditioning - we try to hop into things like The Hall of Presidents, Oh Canada 360* movie, Innoventions, the Land, 3D shows, Carousel of Progress when we need a cool break. It's nice because those aren't usually super busy so you don't have to wait and they are interesting, especially if you aren't wrangling kids. We are also happy to just sit and ride the train around Magic Kingdom and enjoy the breeze. - Bring wipes or a fan to cool off when needed - Eat lots of ice cream.

Frogg togg around your neck and rewet it constantly

We've been MLK weekend and the week after the last two years. Sat/Sun/Mon are rough, the rest of the week is great
I was just there from the Weds before MLK weekend until the Tuesday after. I found having the time BEFORE MLK weekend to hit the parks hard and then doing more relaxing stuff from Sat-Mon was key. Also using a good touring plan ( most reccomended days, Rope Drop, Using FP plus) really helped too.

Those cooling towels. The ones that you soak in ice water and then wring out and SNAP so they stay cool for a few hours. Get a few of those and wear them around your neck.
I did this last Septemeber for my always sweaty DS and DH.
Just posting here to save. We are planning on going next Feb probably.
Who do you guys use to book the condo units? We want to look into a 2 bedroom onsite unit but booking through Disney is outrageous.
I rent my points through David's DVC Request, but when I need to rent points I prefer DVC RentalStore. They don't make you pay all at once and are a little cheaper than David's.

These actually work great--especially when filled with ice water.
@starry BLT's splash pad wasn't great, but E loved the water slide. Also the water feature just next door at the contemporary was a blast for her. There should be some pics on FB.
I feel like with 2 LO's the monorail will be a plus.
countthestars I survived a week with us, my parents, and sister in a 2bd in BLT. We just didn't do EVERYTHING together.

I can't bring myself to stay somewhere other then BLT especially now that we have 2 kids. We did one trip with DD1 (she was 18 months old) at AKL and we LOVE it there (we were between buying at BLT or AKV) walking distance to MK was just SO convenient at MK especially with the stroller. I really do want to stay at Beach Club though because of the pool so I hope to branch outside BLT maybe in 2-3 years
We are doing 4 days at Art of Animation at the end of this upcoming October/November trip, but we won't be doing much in the parks. We are going to do Legoland one day and then DD1 is going to do the Pirate Adventure and we'll spend a bunch of time at the AoA pools because my kids have been asking to stay/swim there every time they see the tv commercial.

How horrible is Disney the last two weeks of August. I don't have definite plans but I am toying with the idea of going. It would be a short trip, five nights max.
Basically, I know it is going to be expensive so I kinda want to be able to enjoy myself and not spend all my time waiting in line.

We used to go in august when I was growing up and I still have memories of how hot it was.
