You are all amazing!
I just spent the afternoon learning how to sew on the sewing machine again (my mom's old Kenmore). So, right now, my progress is straight lines on some scrap fabric, lol.
I found a local quilting group that meets up at the Senior Center every Monday, so I'm going to join them on the days I have off (they're all really nice and know my mom, since my mom works at the fabric store). They're going to teach me how to hand quilt, and then after I finish a practice piece and a baby quilt, I'm going to try to hand piece as well.
After the practice "quilt" (maybe big enough for a doll...), I'm going to make a baby quilt with this fabric (all remnant pieces):
The green piece is only 24" x 44", so I'm putting a 6" strip of the blue with cars on the top and bottom, and the chevron will be the backing.

So, my mom taught me how to use the sewing machine yesterday, today I spent about six hours sewing...
I got the fabric at Salvation Army, it had a printout and instructions to make a cow tote. Today I got all the machine sewing done, all that's left is to turn the two straps and tail right-side-out, stuff and attach the head and udder, then stuff the legs and make sure everything is stitched closed.
I wanted a liner and some pockets, so I added red fabric to the inside, then made two pockets (I forgot to bring extra material for the pocket, so I sewed red scraps together to make one of them).
This may not have been the best beginner project (had to sew a "sharp oval" for the bottom, so a curved fabric onto the straight edges of the sides), but I figured it out. It's goofy, but it will be cute.
I finished this quilt top last week. It's for my guild's charity quilt project. It's about 50" x 68" I currently have one quilt on the machine being quilted. This one is #3 in line to quilt.
I also made this Hazel the Hedgehog test block from Elizabeth Hartman's pattern. I intend to make a whole Hazel quilt, but this hedgie I'll quilt and frame to put in the kids' play area.

I finished!
One of my coworkers (a guy) was watching me stitch the cow head together and he said it would look cool with "googly eyes". I agree The didn't have googly eye buttons, so I sewed on regular buttons and superglued the googly eyes to them. Hopefully they'll hold!

After googly eyes:
It's not perfect, but it's my first sewing project since I was a kid. My mom realized she let me borrow the wrong sewing machine--the one I borrowed has a few issues that made it more difficult than it should have been. I can make one more with the printed fabric I have, but I'll wait until I have the better machine.
Thank you! The skirt is from Michael Miller Out to Sea collection. I can't remember what the other ones are. I did it all by hand with no pattern (only various online tutorials and her other dresses to look at) so I'm pretty proud, particularly of the ruffle sleeves. Think I'm going to try a little handheld sewing machine for the next one though. Hemming those sashes was a lot of work for little return. lol
I did not know these existed! It sounds perfect for certain situations...
I finished quilting this yesterday and today I'm hand finishing the binding. I made the top about a year ago but got so swamped with other projects (and then totally lost my sew-jo, i.e. sewing mojo) that I didn't get to quilting it until about a week ago. It was my first attempt at piecing flying geese (which is a motif that I love though I know a lot of quilters hate it), but I've since made many flying geese inspired tops now. It measures 60" x 66".

So cute!
My mom always made clothes for us when we were little, and made some for my son when he was younger... Actually, she still does sometimes! He needed tights for a play, so it was Gramma to the rescue.
So I've had a bout of start-itis and haven't really finished much. I started a hat that doesn't look like anything yet, so no pictures. The yarn is really soft and pretty though. I started a sock for Tour de Sock, but until I get to the heel it's going to look like a tangled mess. The end result should be lovely. I also started the last round of Sock Madness, even though I'm thoroughly done with the competition and the socks are going to take me a million years. As if that wasn't enough, I'm doing a linen sweater that's miles of stockinette
I started another sock for Sock Knitters Anonymous, and the one mod was such a PITA about the rules that I just left the group. But in the meantime I was inspired to start Squircle, in part because I wanted to do some stash busting. I finished the first sock last night--very quick knit, and fun to play with colors. Now I just have to do the second one!

I have almost 30 hours into a baby quilt (used printed fabric, so just three pieces, but all hand stitched/quilted). I'm about 1/4 of the way done, but am getting faster and my stitches are getting better as I go! I'm going to try to get shorter needles for the next one, that should help me get shorter stitches (I'm around 7/inch right now).
It's my first quilt project, so I'm happy I'm making some progress!

The main (green) part of my kiddie quilt is done, but I want to get a binding on it before I continue to quilt the blue areas. I'll probably start that at on Monday when I go to the quilting group. Sunday I plan to make another cow bag (but better this time). But tomorrow, I sleep. (I've been on 12 straight 12 hour nights!)
My bin of items to rinse and block is getting full, so I took a picture of all my finished projects
Gray socks are Mirkwood, with a cable running down each leg, navy and white socks are There and Back Again, which was really easy except for the heel, blue rectangle is Lions Gate Cowl from Tin Can Knits (love them), red and white slipper is Mukluks from Tin Can Knits, and purple socks are ankle socks for DD.

Those navy and cream socks are to die for. Absolutely love them!

Still practicing sewing. So far I've made two pairs of pj pants (one for me, one for the kid), two pairs of pj shorts (for me), all flannel. Then I made a "laundry day tee" for me. I was able to make it well enough that I can wear it in public!
I'm hoping to make a cloak pretty soon, red satin on one side, black on the other.
The pj pants:
Baby quilt is still not finished; I'm waiting to meet up with the lady who will show me how to do the binding.

So I know this isn't as phenomenal as all of your guys' stuff, but this was my first "real" project: a baby blanket for my soon to be born nephew. It's done with Deborah Norville prints in 'Ruins.' I thought it was ok and then SIL's grandmother complimented it and she's an amazing knitter and crocheter.

Great job! And I'm not just saying that. I made the exact same blanket for my first big project. It somehow ended up with five corners and was stiff as cardboard. Yours is symmetric and drapes nicely--great success!

My baby quilt is still on hold! Haven't met up with the lady who will show me how to bind stuff yet.
So instead, I've made a "Weird Al" concert blanket (to sit on at concerts), an apron for when I do canning, made with Halloween fabric (little jars with stuff like spiders, worms, a hand, etc, in them), and started another baby quilt (castle with knights and dragons). Oh, also crocheting some basic granny squares to eventually make an afghan.
I'm posting here because I've always kind of wanted to contribute. I finally finished ren faire costumes for me and DH. I am way too proud. I usually con someone else in to making them.
