With DS2 I bought a Moby but it's so bulky to carry around and I feel like I have to put it on before I leave the house or else it drags all over the ground as I try to put it on. Plus it's a production to take DS out and put him back in. Tried the Ergo today and it seems very promising!
I have a Beco, too, and it's just as easy, but I liked it even better than the Ergo when DD was tiny b/c it didn't need a separate insert like the Ergo did. Now that she's bigger, I use them interchangeably.

I've heard so many good things about the Ergo. I actually wish I would have bought one.
I primarily use my Moby with DD2. I've gotten really used to tying it now, but it took me a while to get to that point. I also have a Snugli carrier (similar to a bjorn) and it's just ok. It hurts my back if I wear it for longer than a hour or so.
I guess I really need to buy one (or a Beco). DD is 6 months- is it still worth it? DH loves to wear her so he might like it. We already have a Babyhawk Mei Tei and a Bjorn that we got on consignment.
We say our carrier is our number one baby item. We have the Catbird Baby Pikkolo - more similar to the Beco from what I understand. We have used it since DS was 1 week old and still use it now at almost 2 - and 25lbs. Best money we spent!

If you like the Mei Tai, you probably don't need an Ergo although the padded waist will offer you more support and the buckles make it a bit quicker to put on. We didn't start using it until she was about 4 months old, and still got a ton of use out of it. We switched from the Ergo to a toddler sized Mei Tai with a padded waist, when my daughter was almost two. I still occasionally use the Ergo.

LOVED our Beco. I preferred it over the Ergo because, as mentioned, the infant support is much better and since there's a part that goes between you and the baby it was much easier to wear them on my back.
I love my ergo so much. I got the infant insert when DS2 was born and have been using it since like 2 weeks old. I used a moby when DS1 was tiny and didn't get the ergo until he was a few months old. I don't even feel like using the moby this time because it is kind of a pain and I also always had to put it on before I left the house.

We go back and forth between moby and ergo.
newborn - moby 1-2 months - ergo w/ infant insert 3 months - back to the moby
He fits in the ergo now without the infant insert, but his line of sight is right where the strap is so he can't see out. I need to try the little rump pillow from the infant insert in the ergo or else just wait til he's a little taller to see out.
Should I give mine another shot? Baby is 4 months now. Prior, I hated the infant insert - WAY TOO HOT for OC. And I get pretty hot in general so having him up on me makes me even hotter.
Also, my baby is not one that needs or wants to be held very much, it's weird.
I guess I could try it again at the mall or something.
DS didn't like the Ergo until a little after 5 months. I think he was too short to spread his legs wide enough and he HATED the infant insert.
Froggy do you like the Mei Tei, I've heard good things about them too.
I do like it. It's relatively easy to tie on and it's comfortable to wear. However, it's really wide between DD's legs and it looks really feminine when it's on since it gets tied like an apron. I think this is the main reason DH uses the Bjorn more. I don't have a Moby, but if you don't like tying that up, a Mei Tei probably isn't much better.
I wrapped my baby in a blanket and just kind of stuffed her in there. I don't see the need for the infant insert. Now she is comfortable spreading her legs, but I need to put a small blanket under her butt so she sits higher and gets a better view.
The Ergo was one of the very few things I did not give away after I had my son. I swore up and down we were done at 2, but apparently I wasn't sure enough to give away my favorite baby item.
I love ours too! DD had hip dysplasia and the orthopedic surgeon suggested it as a great way to keep her hips in the right position. I actually still use it with her (she's 3.5, 33 lbs) if we go to sporting events or something like that where she might fall asleep but I can't take a stroller.
