I know posting here probably won't help but I need to know that's I've done everything possible.
We were oot for the 4th of July and Jaws was staying with my brother. Like most dogs, Jaws is terrified of fireworks and somehow got out of my brothers' fence and hasn't been seen since. He's a big dog, strong and healthy. He weighs abt 105 lbs so he doesn't exactly disappear. We live in a big city with an active FB page that specializes in lost and found animals. His picture was probably shared 500+ times yesterday. We've made signs, he is chipped and I've confirmed his chip is up to date and paid to have emails blasted to area shelters and vets. My husband went to all the shelters today but no luck.
He's a big friendly yellow lab (well probably lab, we adopted him when he was a puppy) and he's just the best dog. I'm just dying not knowing where he is. Is there anything else I should do?
PDQ but we live in San Antonio so if you're in the area please keep your eyes out! He was lost at 1604 and 281.
I've used Find Toto before (https://www.findtoto.com/). It's basically an Amber Alert for pets. It sends out a message to everyone in your area to alert people that there is a lost pup in the area.
Call the police radio room. A lot of times when dogs are found they will contact the police and leave their name and phone number for the owners to contact them. That is exactly what happened when our dog ran away. I am sorry. I hope you find him soon
I've heard that you can put your worn clothes out so that he can sniff his way back to your brother's house
Have animal control set a trap with food
Put up lost dog posters
Put up a HUGE lost dog sign in your brother's neighborhood. Many people will find a dog and then walk a around the area looking for the owner.
I know you said that you already visited the shelters, but I would continue to do that every few days. Don't just call and ask if they have a yellow lab. Go see for yourself.

I'm so sorry he's missing. Please update us.
This. FWIW, we found a lost dog Sunday evening and it turned out to be the immediate next door neighbors'. She was coming from the other direction so she'd definitely been on an adventure, but didn't go TOO far.
I'm so sorry about your lost dog. He's a handsome boy! I lost my cat and had a group called Dogs Finding Dogs track her scent to where she might be hiding. Unfortunately we haven't found her yet, but it was helpful in knowing where to place flyers and set out food. You might try to see if you have a tracking company local to you. They told me that dogs will wander far, especially if they get scared by a loud noise, whereas cats tend to stay close to home. I'm hoping for the best for you!

I'm still mad about this.
Good luck, OP! My dog is my baby so I understand how you feel.
Keep contacting the shelters, put up flyers and get the word out. My old Jack Russell got out and it was two days before animal services picked her up. I walked the streets every night looking for her and they found her less than one mile from our home. I hope you find him soon!

Oh, me too! AND BF posted a follow-up on NextDoor with an internet meme PSA about how more dogs go missing on the 4 of July than any other day and then the neighbor wife texted him this long text about how the dogs were fine outside, had access to the garage, food & water, and someone was checking on them twice a day. She added how she had taken her four kids to the beach for the 4th of July holiday and he has NO idea how hard that is. It was his decision to keep the dog so he shouldn't act like some kind of martyr. The husband sent a similarly worded e-mail. What a couple of fartpotatoes (TM FastHands).

WTF is wrong with people? If someone saved my dog I would be buying them gift cards to Target and shit. Not telling them how hard parenting is. Jesus Christ.

I once found a dog running in my neighborhood. Luckily he had tags on, so I called and got the owner's info. When I returned the dog, they acknowledged that it was their dog, but didn't even say thank you! I was SO PISSED. These people lived just past a turn in the street that people always take WAY too fast, and it wasn't the first time I'd seen their dog running in the street. They even had a fully fenced front yard! WTF?!

I seriously hate people. Thank you for saving that pup's life. Too bad it has to live with dickbags for a family.
I'm so sorry. My dog is my baby so I know how scary this must be
I second Next Door if you and/your brother are on it. I know you posted on FB, but posting on ND might reach some different people and people from that area. I routinely get lost dog notices on our ND page, usually followed up within 24 hours by saying the dog is found.
A friend lost her dog on Sunday and it turned out that a neighbor a few streets away saw him in the park they always take him to. They kept him overnight and then went looking for signs in the morning. So make sure you've got signs all over where he was lost and check his normal walking route if it's close by.
