I opened our sealed envelope with the sex written in it before we even left the hospital where the ultrasound was done. (in the bathroom stall) I didn't tell H about that until like 6 years later. Hahahahaha.
Listen to it!!! Lol
Eta: the tech didn't actually seal the envelope. He just tucked the flap in - so it really was his fault that temptation got the best of me.

I'd be listening to it on repeat and then playing innocent with DH later. Or, more likely, I'd already be buying pink or blue teeny clothes all over town and showing up to surprise him. I have no chill and I'm frankly shocked I could wait until 20 weeks. (We skipped 12 week testing)
Yeah, I found out via a call (the tech asked if I wanted to know gender - uh yeah), so there wasn't really an option to wait until he could hear the news too. I mean there was no way I was waiting several weeks until the next appointment, lol. I did immediately run upstairs and tell him the good news about the blood tests and that we're having a girl.

The genetic counselor told me she prefers to leave voicemails for this reason, and she told me how she'd do it - she did all the testing talk first, then gave a countdown from five before saying the sex, so it was easy to pause it. I like that approach!
I answered the phone because I knew the call was coming and the number was my doctors office. I didn't give her a chance to leave a message, lol. But that is a good approach. I still would have listened. No self control when it comes to pregnancy. Ha.
