I have a 10km egg! I'm so excited to see what it becomes.
I am only 9, but evolved one Eevee into a Jolteon today. I really need the Flareon! So cute!
I like that @supergreen is like our very own Professor Willow!
swizz taught me that you can only hold 9 eggs at a time. So you have to hatch them to make room for new ones. I read a good tip online that you should use your unlimited incubator to hatch only 2km eggs, since those go fast. Use your other incubators for longer eggs, to get more bang for your buck b/c they only have 3 uses before they break.
LOL I am Pokemon crazy! I am out of pretty much all my items (poke balls, incense, and lucky eggs). I've already spent about $15 on pokecoins so far, if I spend much more DH is going to notice. I'm currently trying to figure out if I can use my PayPal balance (from selling baby clothes here) to buy an iTunes gift card, to buy pokecoins.
I'm starting to get legit jealous of you swizz. You're fulfilling all my Pokemon dreams over there. First scyther, then Fearow. What's next, a Parasect or a Clefable?

And apparently this actually can't be done (buy iTunes gift card with PayPal). Whomp Whomp. I assume for fraud reasons or something? Le crap. It was a good idea. DH already sees Pokemon as lame, I don't see how I'm going to convince him to let me spend more money on it.
I have some crab looking guy in my "close to me" box. (Not Paras) but I can never find those guys. I can walk and walk and walk and they never get closer or appear. Eventually they drop off

Grrrrr. I just went for a long walk at lunch. Probably 1.5-2 miles. I saw two new Pokemon but it kept freezing when I caught them. You're supposed to reload the app and they'll be there but it froze so many times I gave up on one and the other got away. Then at pokestops it wasn't spinning and giving bubbles. Only about half loaded anyway. And the worst part?! It didn't record ANY of the distance I walked!
I sound whiny. But h has a pokestop at his desk and that's not fair. He said it just appeared today! How does that happen? Lol, I'm going to do something useful now.
Mine freezes a BUNCH. Half the times it saves the pokemons, half it doesn't. I'd be so mad about the mileage though!
ETA My issue is that my phones GPS is garbage and it never knows where I am. It makes Pokestops super frustrating and nearly impossible.

Thank you!! This worked! Although I think I must have had a negative Apple ID balance or something, because I bought a $15 GC, redeemed it, and now my balance is $2.05. I guess it applied it to my past purchases or something? So at least I can do it now, but it wasn't any help with buying pokecoins right at this moment.
Zach said it released in Japan today and so he thinks that's why it's super slow today. It worked great for the past few days but today is horrible.
They could use a little help with their servers.
I'm sure they weren't expecting such an incredibly HUGE response to the game. But, they've known that for over a week now, so if they're adding new countries they should know by now their servers need work.

OMG some of you are pros. My CP are all really low. When there is nothing else to do, I just trade them in, so I'm working on evolving a few. I see the same ones most of the time.
There is a liquor store by me that's a poke stop, and someone placed a lure on it, but I still only caught pidgeys and weedles there.

I've been in meetings downtown the last two days, which means plenty of stops and egg incubation time from just walking around. DS is thrilled when I pick him up 😊
Level 11 now! I evolved a Venonat into a Venomoth and a Caterpie into a Metapod. I'm over halfway to hatching my 10K egg. I am still super frustrated by my phone. The GPS is faulty which makes this game (and of course map navigation) nearly impossible at times.
I'm curious about something. I'm level 13. I think swizz is 12 and you're 14. But both of you have much stronger Pokemon, many over 700. My best is 594. Can I ask how you're accomplishing that? Are you catching higher level wild Pokemon, like swizz's recent 400+ Scyther? Or are you catching tons of crap Pokemon and using that stardust to power up your best ones? Like, what's your strategy to get such high CP Pokemon? I feel like I was doing okay in the game and have stalled the last few days. I'm working my ass off to catch pidgeys and weedles and other crap, just to get the stardust, to power up one of my good guys ONE time. The best wild Pokemon I've seen, which are rare, are in the high 200s/low 300s. Nothing like Swizz's scyther or your recent Paras.
And I evolve it, and then power it up as much as possible once I've evolved it as much as I can.
I mean, I catch just a TON of crap ones, and use those. I also have a pretty good loop of pokestops that are popular and have lures near me. I have several churches, a running trail, and two big, popular parks within a quarter mile of my house. One of the parks has two gyms and 7 pokestops.
So that definitely helps.
Thanks for answering, that's good info. Even though I catch a TON of crap, it's the same crap. I don't want or need a strong Raticate, KWIM? Getting 50 paras candy to evolve into a Parasect is extremely daunting, and getting 100 nindoran candy to get my nindorina into a nidoqueen will simply never happen.
I'm lucky if I get one pokestop a day Living on a farm in a small town sucks for this game. I feel like I know HOW to play very well, but can't find child-free time to walk anywhere to look for anything. The best walking area on Main Street has 3 pokestops and 2 gyms. And that's an hour walk if I make it a loop back to my car.
Maybe I should be content to have a really great Pidgeot, Golbat, and Raticate? The evolved forms of the 3 Pokemon I catch the most? I feel like that's so lame. I want something cool!
OMG you guys! Today was awesome. I got up to level 12, hatched a 5k egg into a Psyduck and a 10k egg into an Electabuzz, caught a Nidoqueen, and evolved an Eevee into a Vaporeon, then leveled it up to 1043.
There are two pokestops right next to each other and 3 others very nearby downtown in my town, so I know where I'm hanging out from now on! There's even a cute coffee shop right next to one of them, so I can throw a lure on it and enjoy a latte.
That IS an awesome day! Congrats! The Electabuzz in particular is super awesome. I hope my 10k is something equally cool, like a Magmar or a Lapras.

@supergreen, I always choose the highest level Pokemon to evolve and then power them up as much as possible. That seems to be the easiest route to high levels for me.
The levels only matter in gyms, right? I've only battled a few times and lost so bad,

I caught a 518 lapras yesterday!! I'm lvl 12. I have a hypnobeast over 500 which I evolved from a drowzee but everything else is like 300ish. I still go to gyms and can take one over but I lose it in a hot second. I have four gyms I can easily walk to from my house (less than 0.3 miles) and if I want to walk further there are more. Three of the gyms consistently get taken over by a guy who is lvl 20 with 1200+ level Pokemon.
I've wasted a ton of pokeballs in the last day trying to get a Jynx and Golbat.
Any ideas on how to catch these difficult ones? I've been giving them Razz berries but that doesn't seem to do much.
Turn off AR (the slider in the upper right corner when a Pokemon appears). It centers the Pokemon on the screen and makes them easier to catch. Also remember that a Razz berries helps for ONLY the NEXT throw where the ball grabs the Pokemon. If it escapes the ball, you'll need to feed it another razz berry.
