I'm fed up with the eggs too. We always get shit and I hate that you can't delete them. We're full of 9 2k eggs so we're not getting better eggs. H is saving coins to buy an incubator and we'll have to use it for 2k eggs just to get rid of some.
Why can't we just delete them?!!
Because incubators are the main money maker for Niantic. I know I've bought many. They'll never let us delete eggs. Plus, everyone would just delete all their 2k and 5k until all they have is 10k. Then every gym will be filled with solely Snorlax and Lapras. The game would die.
My kids caught an onix tonight and proceeded to lose their shit. Immediately after, we caught a pikachu. I was finally able to evolve to a seadra, victoreebel and seaking. Pretty good day!
I leveled up to 24 last night and hatched a Pikachu that gave me enough candy to evolve a Raichu. I'm holding off for 2 more Gastly so that I can evolve a Gengar, too. I got my first 10k egg in weeks. I've had two before, but they were both incredibly disappointing.

Very cool! Can I see the onix and Victreebel? My Victreebel was pretty lackluster, I'm curious how yours turned out.
The few I have from the desert biome I've hatched. I haven't really seen any of those in the wild.
My office used to be coastal and I caught TONS of that stuff until the update. Now it's forest like my house so those are all the ones I see on a regular basis -- though much less often than weedle, rattatas and pidgey (it's about a 10:1 ratio for me).
Me too. I have one or two of some of the desert terrain Pokemon (Charmander, Vulpix, Cubone, Geodude). I have plenty of Ekans. I have never seen hitmonlee, and have only hatched a Hitmonchan. Never seen Aerodactyl, Chansey, or Magmar.
I'm sorry your terrain at work changed Maybe it will change back at the next update?
It's weird, PoGo doesn't seem to use much data for me. I played for 3 hours straight on Sunday and only used 0.2 GB. DH uses wayyyy more data streaming music on his commute.
I finally hatched a Pikachu today! I love Pikachu!
I also finally have enough candies to evolve a Nidoking and a Gengar. I am 3 away from Vileplume, 25 from Victeebel, 15 from Nidoqueen and 19 from Polywrath. I'm hoping to get some Polywag from work today on the river.
I did a lucky egg mass evolution Sunday night and earned 62,000 XP! I went from mid level 20 to 44k/75k on level 21. I got 5 new to me pokemons: golduck, vileplume, butterfree, ivysaur, and arbok. I posted my top lineup below from before and after. The best part was I was able to do it from home - the first time I've ever been able to play from my house.
I evolved 3 eevees and they all turned into jolteons. I was a little disappointed in that, but then this morning I took down a 1600 gyarados almost entirely with my 1000 jolteon, so I guess I should appreciate them more.
Some of the movesets are bizarre, like Kingler is a water type, but his moves are ground and bug.
I was on such a roll I accidentally evolved my bellsprout. That was one of the few I knew for sure I wanted to wait on til I had candies for both evolutions. drat. Now I have a CP914 weeping bell in my lineup too. I'm going to be bummed if I get an even better bell sprout now.

Pretty weak here too. The Onix is really lame but it is my kids' favorite so they were thrilled.

Weirdly, I've caught 2 Aerodactyls, 3-4 Magmars, and a Chansey, but I've only ever seen one Drowzee in the wild. And I've seen very few Charmanders and Pikachus. I'm amazed that some of you have enough to evolve them. I also rarely see Bellsprouts, even though I live in a "green" area.
I just caught a pikachu in my office! I saw him pop up on the sightings list so I took a walk around the building and found him!
@supergreen I love that map you linked of where to find pokestops and gyms. It's so interesting to look at. There's a community college nearby and it didn't even occur to me that it would be packed with pokestops. Also, my work is really sparse (which I knew), but there's a business a few miles down the road that I can get in to free with my badge, and it has so much! Maybe I'll try it some time when I have extra hours.
I just hatched my third 10k egg of the past week and it was another jynx. Not as exciting after the first one. I have one more 10k egg but no more incubators at the moment.
My new work pokemon friend accidentally traded in one of his snorlax. Don't feel bad for him, he has 3 more.
OK, I have a question about battling. I've got those graphics @supergreen posted about type matching saved on my phone. What's more significant? The type of your pokemon, or the type of their moves?
For example (this is probably a really bad example, but just go with it), let's say I wanted to take on a snorlax, which is normal type. The chart says I need fighting type. I know the best would be fighting type with fighting moves, but I don't have that yet. So would I be better off with my Hitmonchan, which is fighting type, but has steel moves, or my Pinsir, which is bug type but has fighting moves. If you're going to say "well pinsir is crap no matter what" then just pretend I gave a better example, lol.

This is a good question. I'm curious about the answer, too.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think what matters is the attacker's move type and the defender's pokemon type. ETA: That said, there is a same-type attack bonus (STAB) when the pokemon's type and move type match. But I look up the movesets for the individual pokemon here and that bonus is already accounted for.
What I have questions about it what happens when the defender has two types. Like say you are defending with a Parasect (Bug/Grass). Fire is good against both of those, so does it get a double advantage? Rock is good against bug but bad against grass, so what does the multiplier look like there?

Have you guys used the appraise feature? I haven't heard anyone mention it. Apparently my koffing is the largest the lady has ever seen lol. So dramatic.
