It was great! At first, DD was unsure and a little confused. They put her on my lap in the wheelchair. I only cried a little and then just kept hugging her and kissing her soft little cheeks. I gave her a little gift which she opened and liked. After that, she got used to me and we were good. She kept asking for tours in the wheelchair with me. We went and counted the fish in the tank and she can count to 14 now!
The best was at the end when we ordered lunch. I asked DD to help me to eat a french fry. I can't feed myself so I figured I would ask her just for fun. She loved feeding me so much that she kept grabbing whatever food she could reach and feeding it to me! My husband helped her by handing her the fork with food on it and she had a great time. So did I. They are coming to visit me today as well.
Some of you asked in the other thread a few things. I don't need anything right now. I love reading all of your replies and though it is too much for me to go through and hit like for everyone, know that I have read and reread each and every one of your responses. My mother was with me the entire time I was out of town in the hospital. My brother was there most of the time too and I credit him as the one who saved my life when the hospital ignored my symptoms. DD has been spending a lot of time with my husband's extended family and mother-in-law has been with her since she came back home. Things were crazy for us when we left on the trip. We had just bought a new house and we're renovating the bathrooms so DD and I had never even lived in that house. When my husband brought her back Home at the end of June, my dad had been working with the contractors the whole time to get all the renovations done. She loves the new house. Things have been up-and-down with my husband. I'll have to deal with that later since it's his health insurance. I have friends helping to cover my office at work, but that's another crazy thing I don't really feel like dealing with.
And now that you know the craziness I've been through, next time I'll tell you about what it's like for me to have delegated DDs entire care to my husband and mother-in-law. Look for a vents post, ha ha.
Yay! So glad you had a great visit together! I'm sure she loved helping you, what a big girl. So glad she's able to come back again today. Enjoy your time together.
Continued good thoughts for a full, speedy recovery!
