I'm also still going very strong in this. I have been absolutely loving it for home life organization, workout and meal planning. I've finally settled on a weekly layout I like. It's key for me to think about the current week and following week, so I have a sneak peek on there. SO helpful.
Can you share your layout? I am starting one of these (beginning in Sept because I cannot handle starting one with 7 days left in the month. I'm trying to figure out what layouts will work best for me, and it's super helpful seeing samples from everyone here.
I have fallen off of the bandwagon for daily stuff. Hope to get back on it soon! I'm still using it to keep ideas organized, though! Most recent collections are Books to read and lunch ideas.
I'm going to switch to doing everything in black, I think. The colors are fun, but I'm a SAHM, do they're more for looks than function. And I hate having to keep my cup of pens handy. I ended up carrying it all over the house, which was annoying.
MAJOR SCORE for the discount Bullet Journal ladies!
Staples had Composition notebooks today with graphs for $1 each! I bought 4, LOL. Our Staples is closing soon, and I didn't want to have to drive 20 minutes to get a notebook. (They're normally $2.99)
Ideally, I would love dots, but I'll take graph for $1 vs dots for $18!
I just got these pen holders from Staples. They're a little small but stretchy enough to fit my pens. I've got all three on my notebook & it's so so nice.
Does anyone have recommendations for bill pay tracking? Currently When I get the statement I plug it into my phone to do list for the date it's due, and it alerts me 3 days before so I can pay it. It's for things like the store issued cards that I don't always have to pay each month (like if I don't shop there during that period).
Since I have about a month lead time on getting those paid, I'm not sure how to incorporate it into my bullet journal. Since the bj is done weekly, how do I know to add the bills for that week? Should I keep a running "bills to be paid" list and then when I create my weekly spread refer back to that list?
I just bought a notebook after looking at my coworkers' journals.
I'm wondering if any of you carry yours in a case with just a couple pens? I checked out the one posted up thread, but I don't need 100 pens, or to spend $60.

I got a Casemate journal that has an elastic closure loop and a 4-color Bic pen that I clip to the elastic at the top of the journal so it stays put. No case needed and I haven't lost the pen yet, and it set me back $6 at Walmart. I know a case or bag of pens would be too much for me to carry around and I wouldn't use it, so this is my solution. Too many pens would be overwhelming to me and I'd spend all my time coloring and never getting anything on the list done, lol.

Anyone have another better suggestion?
A couple thoughts: if you do a monthly spread, put them in there and then copy them into the week. I always refer to my monthly page when I'm starting a new day. Or, I have a page of "to-dos to schedule". Some have due dates, some are just longer term projects that I can choose from if my day looks light. They're copied over to the day, then crossed off.
Has anyone moved to their second journal yet? What did you do about stuff that is not completed from your first journal? I haven't filled my first journal yet, but decided to switch journals to the graph books that I bought. I figured Sept 1 was a good time to do that!
I have a nice savings chart, a list of books, house paint colors, etc. Do you just re-copy them into the next journal, or refer back to the old journal for those things?
You ladies have totally inspired me! I read this thread at 10pm last night and was up until 1am designing my bullet journal. Feeling it today a little, but I am so excited, and feel that at least my water intake has greatly increased today since I am tracking it.
How did everyone do with August? My habit tracking was hilarious, any time I was away on vacation there was SO MUCH RED. Also, I tried to give up desserts. LOL FOR DAYS. I had dessert daily. I need to find a sugar free option or something.

Honestly, I tried to give up desserts and failed. It's just not realistic for me right now.
Instead, I buy super expensive chocolates and portion out a tiny bit each night. It serves my "need" for something sweet and as long as I break off a piece or two and take it to the couch, I'm not likely to overdo it.
That has nothing to do with my bullet journal. LOL.
More relevant-- I covered up my first mistake yesterday with some washi tape from my CW. It's so pretty!
You guys grabbed me I'm going to Target at lunch to get some Washi tape and a few cool pens. Then picking up a cool notebook I found on BN last night and put on reserve. Had to have one with a spiral bind.

Your threads have been an introduction to me too!
Several months ago I tried to start using a paper planner again. I'm more of a list person than scheduler by time person and the the calendars/life planners I've tried haven't been working for me. Some parts are too detailed, and others don't have enough space. I love the idea of having events, task lists and short journal notes and ideas all in one place. Plus customizable space for ongoing projects!
I wanted something light, so I got a softcover A5 journal plus some colored pens, tape, and a small ruler. I have coloring pencils if I'm ambitious, but I'm not much of an artist. Last night, I set up a September monthly page, a weekly spread (which I think will be too cluttered), and a few specialized pages. Tonight I'll set up a future log and transfer events from my calendar. I still need to work out a key.
Thanks you to @sessalee and everyone in this thread for ideas! I love seeing all your layouts.
I started my bullet journal for September, so I will be ready to join in tomorrow. I'm not sure what I want to track or what else should go on my month page, but I have all of September ready and a page for books read during the year, so I'm just going to jump in.
This is the beauty of it! It develops as you need it.

I buy Outshine popsicles. Not sugar free, but much fewer calories and not full of artificial crap like the ice cream I eat as an alternative

My monthly page & habit tracker were woefully forgotten, but I'm LOVING my weekly spread. It's working perfectly for me. I have the weekly calendar at the top with space for meetings/day specific stuff, and then a "this week" to do list at the bottom. I just add throughout the week, and then transfer stuff that hasn't happened to the next week.
I don't have enough "need to do today" stuff that I need a daily page.
I may or may not have started a Christmas Gifts Ideas list
