I can't even express the caliber of profound hatred I felt for Elizabeth while reading Eat Pray Love, which might be one of the most privileged, most navel-gazing wastes of time I've ever read. (That is SAYING SOMETHING, because I read Lena Dunham's book too; apparently, I don't learn.) I am angry that trees died for that book and that it kept Julia Roberts employed.

No....I read this book and felt so much loathing towards this woman i could not explain it. The only reason I finished it is bc I frickin spent money on it and I refuse to not finish a book I spend money on.

Although saying that, if you can write a whole book about how hard you had to work to convince yourself to get married, it's probably not a shock that it didn't work out.

I sincerely wish I had that insight before I picked up that book and orange is the new black, hated piper, and how to be single which was really just eat pray love with more sex.
Note to self: no more memoirs.

It took me at least 3 tries to start this book and the only reason I powered through was because of all the hype. Crying on the floor of her perfect house, in a perfect marriage only because she didn't want kids or to move to the suburbs. I can't even remember. What an insufferable bitch. And the luxury of having the money to just travel and "discover" herself. She is so relatable!

(Note: I have no problem with women staying or going in a marriage. It's the intense public navel gazing that makes me gag)
