Lying in the hospital recovering from yesterday's knee replacement surgery. Did you know that they make you stand and the walk in the first two hours you are fully awake? Mind blown.

This is a huge part of take care of me for me.
Hope everything goes smoothly as you recover. That seems like quite a request so quick but I guess they know what's best.
Yes, I get it checked during my annual physical. My doctor said it was fine back in April. This sucks since my weight has even gone up since then and I have a follow up in October. Gah. I am going to try focusing on Paleo/Whole 30 again and maybe will have better luck if I stick to it longer than a month. Sigh.
Is it an endocrinologist that people are always suggesting when a primary doc says thyroid levels are fine? I don't know with everything you have described I would just want to look into a medical issue more. I hope you get it figured out. I know you have to be frustrated.
I just want to echo this. There is a discrepancy between what family docs say is fine and what a endocrinoloigst will say. I was told by my primary doc for years that it was borderline but after seeing an endo he told me that the number really should be X. The difference in my life when I started synothyroid was huge for me- I lost weight, slept better, less aches and pains oh and I finally got knocked up but there was some there stuff involved in the last one .

I learned this when my uncle had his--I think it's so insane lol, but I guess they know what they are doing, because he was home and moving great shortly thereafter. I hope you have a swift recovery and the replacement is a blessing!
I'm on inpatient this month, which means my schedule is completely insane and I'm working 6 days per week.
I have to be realistic with myself. I'm doing soccer 2 days per week, plus French once a week. I don't think it's realistic I'll get to the gym much and can't do swimming lessons until this month is over. I did run on the treadmill once this week at home, so that's good.
Plus I have an in-training exam this month and should be studying weekly.
I struggle tremendously with self care. I've fallen into something of an anxiety/depression spiral but whatever I'm working on it.
I'd like to really buckle down on my fitness routine. I have to start somewhere. Can you suggest a workout routine based on this general schedule
Mon -Fri up at 6 - out of the house by 7:20 Mon evenings are free but H has been working again Tues-Sunday nights. He's only supposed to work Thurs-Sun nights but he just can't seem to stick to that. Should I get up weekdays at 4:30 to exercise? Do any of you do this? It seems so hard to me...
Sat / Sun I take DD's to activities but could workout both days around 9 or so.
What are your suggestions for a manageable, predicable work out schedule
These last two months of family drama with my brother/SIL/mom have killed me. I got so far off task in terms of self care.
Things I need to do: - cut out processed foods and excess starches - get back into a 4-5 day/week workout plan - get back into a nightly skincare routine - drink more water - go to bed earlier - start taking vitamin d and omega 3 supplements again - purge my closet and only keep/buy what makes me feel good NOW regardless of the size on the tag - start wearing my heels again - read more. Books not boards.
What I need to do but don't know how best to handle: - dealing with anxiety - dealing with personalities at work
So much of this resonates.
I was recently promoted and am now supervising people I considered peers for a long time. The personalities are too much. It's really stressing me out. I have to get back into a decent exercise schedule. I'm just slacking so much. I feel awful. (((Hugs))) to you

My girlfriend is single, no children, but she gets up between 4:30-5 AM to workout because her job is very demanding and she doesn't have time to shower during the day at work. It sounds like hell to me, but she says it gives her a good energy boost during the day and she's too beat down to do it in the evening. On the bright side, she seems to get to bed early and gets a good 7-8 hours sleep a night. If I were in your shoes, I might be able to handle getting up at 4:30 AM just on Wednesdays to work out, working out Monday evenings and working out on Saturday mornings. If you can want Sunday mornings also, then go for it, but I think 3 days is a good start. Save

As someone who gets up at 415 every day just for work. I do not understand how people do this for working out. I feel like a zombie.
Next week I will be able to go to my regular hours because H will be done with training. I will get off early enough that I can work out before picking up DD for daycare. So my plan is to workout Monday - Thursday when I get off and then go pick up DD. We will see how that goes. I don't miss working out, but I worry about regressing. So off I go.
bab anyway to take DD with you to workout if you workout outside of the home? Gym daycare?
Not really. I go to planet fitness for machines and weights and Jazzercise class for aerobics. Neither place has childcare, but my girls are probably too big for gym daycare anyway (11.5 years) and my one daughter has autism. I'm still not too comfortable leaving them alone.

childofhiphop how's the recovery going. I do feel badly for patients when they get them up so quickly after surgery, but it does help with so many things in the long.
