Also unrelated to boob talk I was planning on this being kind of a healthy vacation. And then I ate 3 tacos and an entire plate of guacamole all by myself for lunch, so.

I don't know what sounds better-vacation, tacos, or a whole plate of quacamole all to myself. What kind of tacos?

Grilled shrimp and they were amazing. And yes jene that's what I told myself haha

I'm frustrated. I need to find a new 'A' race for the year. The plan was an Oly back home, but I was looking at the race page to see if they'd opened registration yet, and I notice under the schedule it says that there is a 2 hour race limit.
Considering it took me 2 hours to do my sprint last year, I figure there is no way in hell that's going to happen.

That has to be a misprint. Right?!
That's what I thought at first, but I have no idea. The race page for this same race last year doesn't mention a time limit at all; and the results for last year show the last place person finishing around 3:25. The other triathlon that this group puts on at the Oly distance says the same thing.

My random: there's a pie shop right next door to my new gym. Today was the first time I've gone before work. The whole block smelled like delicious cinnamon rolls. Want. I love my new gym though! It's super close to work. And a pie shop.
This is a snotty random. I have my heart set on going to Europe around Christmas 2017 to check out some of the Christmas markets. Me and H have been talking about it for a couple of months now. Well now my BIL and SIL want to plan a joint vacation. They keep throwing out tropical destinations, and at the same time. Dude. I live in freaking Houston. I don't WANT to go somewhere tropical! And why do you have to be planning for the same time? I'm more than willing to go on vacation a different time!

My fiest assumption would be that its a mistake. Maybe email?
But if not, What's your timeframe and target region? I like perusing races.

I sent the RD an email this afternoon, so waiting on a response there.
End of July/early August or so. Oly length. This one was by my parents in MN. So somewhere up there or Western WI/northern IA would be good.

Whyyyyyy does the NY Marathon cost $295??? I mean, I know the answer, because I do realize that it's a giant undertaking. But it's still hard to swallow.

I broke my whole 30 about 5 days ago. O regrets. Now I will just try to focus on not eating a lot of sugar adied foods 90/10.
When my boss asks me question she should know by now or is able to look up I give her blank face that is pretty much my you are fucking stupid face because I am tired of repeating myself 8 million times and getting the same questions. Probably not nice but as she is now blaming me for her shortcomings I don't care.
I think I fucked up my heel yesterday. When I ran 3 miles straight. I was really proud yesterday of running 3 miles starting hr I know most people here run a lot longer and fast than me but I was happy. Now I am sad. I am supposed to rUn again tomorrow so we will see it did okay today during my weight training.
We started our taxes today and it is showing us owing. My husband is freaking out. I am not worried yet.
Eta we are supposed to get wintery weather tomorrow. Basically we are going to be freezing and possibility of snow/ice that may last a day I'd we are lucky. I hope it holds it so I can run with the dogs outside instead of on the treadmill
I'm headed to the dermo this morning for my semiannual skin check. Kind of a pain but glad to get it checked off the list!
May I ask why you need a semi-annual check? I started getting annuals just 2 years ago and had 3 moles removed. I questioned a small mole on my leg last year that my derm said was fine, even though I said it hurts to touch it hard. That doc left the practice, so I saw a new one just before Christmas. She said if I felt a sensation, she'd trust my instinct and remove it. She called me 2 days after Christmas late in the evening to tell me it was moderately severe/precancerous. Yesterday I had to have what seems like right now a hugely deep excision done to remove 4-5mm of the surrounding tissue. I got 16 stitches and cannot do any stressful leg workouts for two weeks. I went from having a cute tiny (harmless to the eye) mole on my leg to this giant 2+ inch incision that will likely leave a nasty scar. And damnit, my legs are like the only thing going for me these days! Better than cancer. Get your skin checked everyone! :-)
1- original mole, 2- after first removal, 3-numbed up for excision (that's meds, not my knee cap), 4- post
Iam tired of showering and having wet hair. Between Tuesday night (run), Wednesday (teaching morning and evening spin) and Thursday morning (run) I feel like my hair and skin/hair never gets dry or warm (even with the quick 2 min no hair washing rinse off. )
Also, any recommendations on compression socks? I got some aswift ones that I love, but I'm afraid they won't last. (But they are damn cute)
I have cep and pro compression. My pro compression are a lot tighter than my cep. My cep are tight but not at tight as my procompression. I don't use them often enough lately to have a preference.
chitownbelle - Sorry for what sounds like a really painful and invasive removal. I hope the scar fades!
I've had several removed and the scars they leave behind are always more unsightly than the mole was to begin with. They have gotten better over time though.
My derm actually just "graduated" me to annual checks today! A few years ago I went through a period where it seemed like I had a lot of weird and quickly changing moles and had several removed and biopsied, so she had me coming in every 6 months just to be safe. I've haven't had anything abnormal in the last couple of years though so I guess she feels okay with me coming in on a typical schedule from now on, though she did say not to hesitate to call if I saw anything suspicious.
Reading about the skin checks that are happening in this thread makes me so happy. shelbyann, congratulations on your graduation! chitownbelle, I'm happy you trusted your gut!
For those that don't know, H was diagnosed with malignant melanoma late last year. He ended up with a 3cmx9cm section of his back being removed, down to the muscle. We were able to catch it in time before it started spreading. He recently graduated to semi annual skin checks, from quarterly.

Oh my goodness!!! I hope he's doing better. It's seriously painful. I'm glad they caught it. Congrats to him on graduating, and to you too shelbyann. I have to go back in 6 months and see how it goes.
Today's warmer temperature and rain mostly cleared the snow that has covered everything for an entire week. It was so nice to put my running shoes on and (slowly and cautiously) go for a run.

Sockwell! I love them and the customer service is amazing! (They sent me a free pair when I asked about whether my fat calves would fit in them. Spoiler alert: they did!)

RD responded saying that the time limit was just for the sprint distance. Except this race doesn't have a sprint distance. So WTF knows what's actually going on there. Anyways, I still thinking that I need to find a new race. I anticipate being WAY back of the pack with the results they have posted for the last couple years.
