I sent the RD an email this afternoon, so waiting on a response there.
End of July/early August or so. Oly length. This one was by my parents in MN. So somewhere up there or Western WI/northern IA would be good.
RD responded saying that the time limit was just for the sprint distance. Except this race doesn't have a sprint distance. So WTF knows what's actually going on there. Anyways, I still thinking that I need to find a new race. I anticipate being WAY back of the pack with the results they have posted for the last couple years.
Oly's are hard to find man! I did find the one that I guess you were planning to do with the 2 hour limit. And yeah...there's only one length on that one, so no clue what they're smoking. The only other two I found in that time frame are both about three hours away from that race venue. (since I don't know where your parents are i used that as the base point.)
Brewhouse Tri - Duluth. August 6. This one looks really fun. Pint glasses and a free craft beer! yes! brewhousetriathlon.com/ Woodson YMCA - Wausau, WI. August 5. Don't know if this counts as western WI. More central? Looks like a nice low key race, which might be nice depending on what you're looking for. www.woodsonymca.com/event/triathlon/
If you could slide earlier in july there's a few in the Minneapolis area.

I even responded that I didn't think there was a sprint distance, but if they were liberal with finishing times it may not be a problem. Response: Sounds good! ^o)
I've been searching all day for options and its true, Olympics are proving difficult to find. Is the one in July the Lifetime Tri one? That may be a good option, looks like a good number of racers in 2016 finished around the time I expect to finish. I don't care if I finish last, but I don't want to finish last by a ton of time. KWIM?

I totally understand.
Yeah, there's the lifetime one, and then I thought I saw another, but I can't find it again.
Then outside of Minneapolis there's one in waterloo, IA (http://www.acceltriathlon.com/index.php/registration) and one in cohasset (http://www.timberman.org/)

Thanks for the help! Now I need to see if any of these work with mine/H's work schedules.

No problem. I spent most of a day doing this over xmas weekend while sitting on my mama's couch with my mama, MH and I all on our assorted devices trying to convince MH to wedge another race onto our calendar. I kinda like it.
