I didn't have a strapless - I'm very tall and have a long neck and well, there is just a lot of space between my shoulders and my head. I look ridiculous in strapless. But at the time, almost every.single.dress was strapless.
I ended up with a halter -which is a much better look on me than strapless. To be honest, I don't think strapless is the most flattering look on most people anyway.

When I was looking for dresses 1.5 years ago, it was still harder to find non-strapless dresses. None of the ones I tried on looked good on me, so I ended up with strapless.
I didn't want straps. I usually look terrible in strapless dresses because of my big chest and broad shoulders. I ended up getting... a strapless dress. It looked good on me because it was an empire waist, the neckline was straight and plain (I could therefore wear a big necklace), and it was everything else I wanted. I thought about adding sleeves or straps, but in the end, I didn't feel like it. Had I been able to get a similar dress that wasn't strapless, though, I would have.

I didn't have strapless and knew going into wedding dress shopping that I didn't want strapless or halter top. It was harder to find a dress but I loved my dress and am glad I didn't get strapless. At one store I told the lady right away what I didn't want and they literally only had one dress that wasn't strapless or halter.

My main complaint about strapless wedding dresses is that they're so damn uncomfortable. I have yet to encounter one that doesn't have whaleboning that jabs into my diaphragm and make it painful to breathe when I sit down. For that reason, I refused to have one of those strapless dresses that were all the rage.
