Pippin , pretty sure it was a hair product. And....it was. It does say 'free ground shipping' where it would normally say 'free flash shippng' so it really was my fault for not paying attention. Had I thought about it, I would have only ordered the non Haz Mat items. I just wish they would have automatically done that (send Haz Mat separate from non Haz Mat items) like other places do and notify me at time of purchase.
ETA: And you're right, nail polish is also considered haz mat. Upon checking, I am now lusting after a Marc Jacobs color. Damn.

I'm on a foundation buying spree.
I got the Stila Stay All Day foundation yesterday (undecided still -- I love it at first, but I think it's breaking on my skin really early).
I got the Dr. Jart bb cream today -- super excited to try it tomorrow! I also got a travel size of the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer that everyone loves.

I had the same issue. I was like, "where the fuck is my flash shipping?!?!?"
I also ordered a hair product. Trying a Verb sample set. It's got some spray thing in it, so that must be it.
I'm running out of my B&B invisible oil shampoo and conditioner and want to try a new line.
@beagle , how much are you looking to spend, and what brushes do you need?
A new set? I have a bunch of elf brushes, and I like them, but I've had them for so long I've worn them out. I don't mind spending more, but I don't need professional- I only wear makeup once or twice per week.
So, basic brushes like powder, blush, shadow? I like Real Techniques, Sonia Kashuk, ecotools, and the IT brushes at Ulta (but thos might be more expensive than what you want to spend). I have quite a few elf brushes, but i hate the sets they sell.
So I picked up a cover girl brush at target on clearance for 2 something. I figured why not. It is half eyeshadow and half angled liner. Ironically, I have been using this liner brush more than my Laura mercier or MUFE eyeliner brushes over the last two weeks. You never know.
What do you think of this box from Ulta for someone totally new to Asian beauty/skincare? Is it a good way to go or am I better off ordering individual things?
Ulta would be the best because I have a gift card but I don't know what all they carry.

How do you guys organize your palettes?
I bought one of those acrylic makeup organizers but the drawers can only fit one palette each.
At least all of my mini lipsticks are organized now this is going to help me cut back with my purchasing. I want to use up at least one of the minis before buying another one.

I use Ikea picture shelves and have them all sitting out on the shelves. It's kind of like useful art.

I have an old fashion wooden tool chest. My palettes go in the top part (lid lifts for deep drawer).

Is there a trick to twisting the NYX shadow stick up? I can't seem to get the stupid thing to twist and give me more shadow! I'm not quite down to the plastic yet, but I will be soon if I can't get it to twist up more.

Which sticks? I have a bunch of the jumbo eye pencils and with those you use a sharpener. Not sure about the others like the Full Throttle, maybe someone else can chime in about them!
Personally I find Julep to be hit or miss. The Night Shift in that collection broke me out something fierce, which is a shame because other than that I liked it, lol!
On thing to consider since you specifically asked about AB is that Julep is an American company run by a former Starbucks exec (although she is the daughter of Korean immigrants). Not sure if that makes a difference or not. Some of their things are great, they just aren't an overseas company in case you were looking for specifically Korean/Asian-made products.
Thanks sporky. Just buying a kit appeals to me but I think I'll try to do some more research on products instead. Some day I will read the AB mega thread, lol

It doesn't appeal to me. There are frequently boxes/kits on memebox that would be good for a beginner. AB skincare is fun, mostly cheap, and hit or miss on being good. 49 seems ridiculous for a beginner AB kit.

If you're looking for something to use the Sephora UNBORING code on, may I suggest the Give Me Some Nude Lip kit? Mine just arrived today and I'm smitten!

It's the infinite shadow stick. It's a plastic case and it looks like a twist bottom similar to a lipstick, but I can't seem to get it to move.

Oh, I have a couple of those too! They don't twist- you have to use a sharpener on them.

I have been trying to use up my millions of samples and came across the UD b6 prep spray in my stash. I am loving how my foundation is looking and lasting when using this.
I got ready at the gym today and there were too many people using blowdryers for me to do my makeup (I kept sweating) so I was going to wait till I got in my car.
Instead of course I just totally forgot to put anything on. I feel naked. not sure I'm going to bother at this point though.
peachy, I think the best way to start is to add one thing at a time. My first thing was the super cheap Dermal Korea sheet masks on Amazon - I started doing those before putting on my heavier moisturizer at night. Adding an oil cleanser at night before you use your regular cleanser (double cleansing) is also a good place to start - I think a few of us here use the Innisfree apple one. I also introduced the Cosrx Snail 96 Mucin (before moisturizing). I think it's better to introduce your new stuff in gradually as you run out of your old stuff vs starting an entire new regimen at once.
